Hey guys, good news tongue.gif

I was in the store today, and I bought a new cable, a Schulz! 3m with the thick head, I just plugged it in my amp for the first time withouth the FX pedal.. it sounded great, but now I'm not sure if that's due to the pedal of the cable tongue.gif I also ordered a Toneport GX, and it's coming withing 24 to 48 hours!!!

Sounds great, have fun with your stuff mate! smile.gif

Congratulations!!!
I'd be curious to know if the cable makes a good difference.
Is there any way you could test it with the old cable and compare? I'd love to know!

Actually a great cable vs a cheap and bad cable makes a difference..
I've tested it a while ago with a pretty expensive DiMarzio cable vs my old no-name cable..
There were actually less noise and and I thought it sounded a little bit better, but other than that nothing much smile.gif

But there's better cables than what I use so I'd like to test it again actually smile.gif

I've been told that the cable is the most underestimated piece of gear out there. There's the difference between the small plugs. Where the plug is just as big as the cable (like my old cabel(s)) and now I have one where the plug is twice as big. The store guy told me it was a different sort of plug, and better. Indeed the noise is a lot less.

Great! the cables are more important than the most of us think.

It makes a lot of difference if you ahve really cheap cables. My cable "hummed". I thought it was everything, the guitar, the amp, the effects... Then I forgot to bring it to rehearsal and borrowed one and the humming noise was totally gone, man I was so happy it was a relativelly cheap problem wink.gif

I always buy quality cables now..

I had cheap cables over the years...There is a hearable difference really , one cable was actually lowering the volume of my guitar in comparison to the other!! Also cheap cables break easily..People underestimate cables , they should by good quality one and it will last them for years...

Congrats Kaznie on your new gear !! That toneport will make a huge difference in recording!! smile.gif

Congrats on the new gear, it's always a blast to have new guitar stuff!

That reminds me that I need some new things too! biggrin.gif

I just ordered new gear as well..

A new metronone.. yay.. LOL! (the old one broke)

Even though i know that this thing will force me to practice all the "boring" stuff, i am still looking forward to it.. maybe because i also know how much good it will do me.. biggrin.gif

Ahhh.. Congrat on the new toy's. Your going to love your Tone Port.

I never thought the cable would make that big of a difference but this makes sence. I'm going to have to look into this. smile.gif

Congratulations on your new cable !

I agree, musicians should pay more attention to cables as they indeed influence the sound of your instrument.

Great tread smile.gif

And another 24 hours as they don't deliver on Mondays in NL unfortunately smile.gif Gratz on your new gear btw. Since I have a very expensive guitar cable it never breaks down on me anymore, so it was definitely worth the investment.

Yeah everywhere I look they only sell the pod studio, but as you said, you must pay more for the same, so I want the toneport biggrin.gif

If you don't need to try it out - just order it online. Online shops are mostly cheaper anyway. You could try thomann: http://www.thomann.de/be/line6_toneport_ux1.htm I was always happy with them so far.

Can't wait to hear some new sounds out of that TOneport GX Kaz. If you need any questions about setting it up, or you need some presets, post on my board mate! smile.gif

It came today and.. a little surprise tongue.gif They send me a Studio GX. I think they didn't have the normal version anymore, but they didn't want to disapoint me! Very nice service from the site, so a little advertistement for them:

www.musicallin.nl for dutch and belgium customers!

EDIT: 59 euros for a Studio GX, that's nice deal tongue.gif
