Hello,

Is there no way to display the lesson's list in a more confortable way, alphabeticly or whatever ?
Browsing thorugh lessons when you don't really know what you're looking for is really a pain in the ass.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I don't see how an alphabetical order will help you when you don't know what you are looking for. Have you seen that you can select certain styles like shred, metal and rock? Maybe this will help you for a start?
If you have a slight idea what you are looking for, you can also type that into the search bar, let's say "rhythm" or "legato" and all the lessons with that tag are shown to you. You can narrow down the search by selecting the difficulty.
Hope that helps for a start!
Christian

Well, first of all, browsing thourgh a list that seems organized is a lot more confortable.
But the issue mainly is the way the list is displayed : giant items grouped by ten that you can't even see in one simple list.
There are more than 2000 thousands videos. If i'm not searching for anything in particular and just want to check what the site has to offer, i'm supposed to click 200 times on "see more videos" until i have the whole list in front of my eyes ?
As an user, that's inconvenient. As a web-designer, it's an insult.

Here's how a decent lessons list should look like :

Hi John, thanks a lot for your feedback.

Unfortunately, currently there is no option to display "all" the lessons in certain categories on one page without clicking "see more lessons" because of the huge number of lessons.

You could use GMC Search for more filtered results : https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/search/
There is also an option "Stumble instead" which will conveniently take you from one random lesson to another.

Hi John, I'm assuming (realizing you are a web designer, I sincerely am not trying to insult your intelligence) you are using the "Guitar Lessons" button at the upper left. After that you can narrow the search by style, instructer, level etc. Yes, you would have to click the "See more Lessons" but at least not 200 times. I find this very useful & helpful. Also, if there is a specific artist style, for example, Steve Vai, you can just search "Steve Vai" in the Search bar. As you stated, the enormous amount of lessons available at GMC can be truly overwhelming. If I am looking at your comparative site correctly (I don't speak french), they only have 269 lessons which is roughly only 10% of what GMC offers.

Forgive me if I misunderstood the question.

Gary

Once again, what if i don't want to browse for something specific ?
Let's say i come hear saying myself "Well, i feel like learning something different today, maybe a cool pop riff, some metal solo or a new technique i havn't heard of before, let's check what's available" (which is basicaly why i registered", it would be nice to be able to see the website's content in a confortable a readable list.

You have the option to change the url's parameter to show all lessons imediabtly but still, they're not displayed in a practical way. I don't need to see a big photo of the instructor or tags, what do I care ? This is a very commercial way to present a website's informations, which is ok when you want to attract new subscribers, but at least give them the possibility to browse easyly trough the content when they're in.

Our focus is on each and every student in particular. If you need any help regarding your practice or you need lesson recommendations, instructors are here to help you create a routine, recommend lessons, give you a list of lessons that you might be interested in.

The content of the site is quite big, and I use search function to find the lessons I need to recommend to other people. It's a good way of finding what you need. If you for example want to find cool pop riff, you can type in "pop riff", difficulty "2-5", you'll get this result:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/search/po...esson=3;forum=1

Then you can browse through the specific selection, and check out lessons until you find something interesting. You can see the thumbnail of the lesson, information about the instructor who made it, level of the lesson, and how old the lesson is.

For any additional info on the lessons or any other content on the site, you can:

- Post a comment/request/feedback in the lesson feedback window (in the upper right corner of the lesson)
- Send a message to instructors so we can help you with the lesson/content in detail
- Discuss the topic with the community
- Attend a video chat where we can discuss the specific lesson topic live
- Post your playing of the lesson in the REC program so you can get grades and feedback about your playing
- Check the GMC Guitar Wiki, or search the forums for more info

EDIT
In addition:

There is another cool way to check out lesson categories (see bottom of the page):

here's an example:
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/video-lessons/hard-rock/

And here are GMC series of lessons that are courses for specific styles/techniques:
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/video-les.../lesson-series/

Nothing of what you guys suggest replaces the idea of having a list of all available lessons when that is what you want.
GMC is not perfect and people have different wishes on how they want to browse the content. Instead of trying to convince him wrong (not saying one shouldn't write of alternative ways to browse GMC), take his idea to heart. If one person writes it on the forum, there has probably been a lot of people who thought the same, but didn't post.

Interesting feedback - and an alphabetical list of artists/guitarists is actually in the planning. Not sure it wil be useful to have such a list for all lessons but we'll think about it some more!

That's good to know.
One interesting improvement would be a filter to chose what informations you wan't displayed in the list. Sure, having nice big items with a picture does a lot to make the website attractive, but once you have subscribed you wan't something convenient. If you're low on manpower i'm ready to help tongue.gif
