Hey guys, it's been awhile!
I was wondering if I could get some advice with left hand tapping please?

I've been trying to learn this song:
(this video is a cover but I really like it)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umGJ-KZWsPI

But I'm having issues with the volume of my tapping while I'm using my left hand. I've tried adjusting my gain and other things but it really doesn't help all that much so I figure it's probably a technique and strength related issue.

The first chord/arpeggio in the song goes like this:

e----------
B----------
G--------4
D-----5---
A--7------
E----------

All tapped with the fretting hand. I can only get the first note (using my pinky) consistently loud enough.

I know I need to build up finger strength, but I was wondering if there's some technique/tips that would help increase the volume of my left-hand tapping as well?

Thanks everyone!!

Hey GMC!

I was wondering how to properly do the "SRV rake technique"
Like in Jacob Light's newest lesson: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/BluesTheTexasHybrid/

It looks like he's palm muting the strings he rakes but I find it extremely difficult to palm mute them and have only the proper note ring out. Any advice or tips?

Thanks!!

Hey GMC, I was wondering if it's a bad idea to use a high e string from a set of 11 gauge strings on a guitar strung with a set of 10s?
My string broke and I don't have a set of 10 gauge strings sad.gif lol.
If it is, why's that?

Thanks everyone!!

Hey guys, I was wondering about the most effective way to turn around, or start to go back down the arpeggio.
I've noticed when I get to the point I either pick to hard and then end up going up through the string then hitting it again on the way back down or not picking it hard enough.
Would it be more effective to start going back downwards on the top note?

for example\
e 13p17p13 ----------13h17
B ------------15-----15
G-----------------14 pick downwards on this note or still keep going upwards then pick downwards on the second 15 on B
D
A
E

Thanks so much everyone!
