Not for everyone but I love the fact that each of these guitars are custom painted smile.gif

Yup smile.gif Some great paint work. The EMG pup covers make such pain jobs possible without breaking up the canvans. One could swap them out for fishmans of course smile.gif

I must admit these don't really speak to me anymore. I used to like custom paint jobs like this, but I think I've fallen out of love with it.

Artistically they look nice but not my thing. I like Mustaine's Angel of Deth II and probably it's the only one, other than that I enjoy solid colors, prefer matte but my guitars are all shiny finish. I might get it if I end up looking for an Explorer type again smile.gif

Not for everyone to be sure. I still do enjoy the artistry of a nice custom paint job smile.gif I can appreciate more generic finishes too though. Flamed maple, or even basic black. These are all for sale as someone is selling their collection. Don't know the details though.

The prices are INSANE. This one is 16k US

I've seen pictures/posters done DIY which often seemed convincing, for a cheap and ugly guitar could be a cool solution smile.gif

I've only played 1-2 expensive Jacksons till now but (specially if non-EMG) their cleans sound exceptionally good for a shredder guitar.

Cheap and Ugly? Who could say no to that? smile.gif

I"ve played a few custom shop jacksons and they are really fine guitars. They should be after all, they are hand crafted instruments built by some of the best guys in the biz. Then again the L.A. custom shop for Ibanez puts out some spiff gear as well. For me, those are the best axes on earth. Just so crazy pricey.
These jacksons are really crazy pricey indeed. 16k for a guitar?

Yeah there isn't a market for such guitars having huge price tag.s like that anymore, maybe happened in the 90's but not today. I checked musiczoo customshops, 3-5k price range currently which seems normal to me (around 5k is where Gibson CS stuff starts).

Some of them are already sold, so yeah there is somewhat of a market which I actually find a bit staggering. There are folks out there willing to part with 16k for a guitar.
I"m not one of those people. Even if God himself played these and painted them himself I still can't see paying 16k for one. I can appreciate the craftsmanship and artistry though smile.gif

Yeah, folks are not willing to pay more than a few grand, typically, for a custom guitar. Of course, some folks are evidently just out of their mind and have wads of money to blow, like the folks buying these insanely priced guitars.
To wit, more pix of these rare birds.
P.S. I'd much rather have a custom painted DAEMONESS and it would be just a fraction of this price. That said, they are pretty!

Just saw this, they are selling hand painted jacksons that look just like the one TONY MCALPINE used on his legendary "MAXIMUM SECURITY" album. These are 5k each, (in that 3-5k range mertay mentioned) and can be bought on Musicians Friend online.
Attached ImageAlthough, the one Tony played in this vid was a B.C. Rich smile.gif Even decades later, I can still hear Tony's influence in nearly every modern player of note that I can think of who can really play. IMHO Tony is amazing.
CORRECTION:
The "Four Horsemen" guitars are a collection of four guitars. That's why the price is above 15k evidently, they are a custom set of one off guitars.https://reddragonguitars.com/shop?olsPage=p...by-craig-fraser

I was watching this earlier

...and even though the old VHS copy of Tears of Sahara is somewhat "VHS'ed" in quality, I think I prefer his tone in that one.
