GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Exclusive Bonus - Evening Bells Lesson!
Posted by: Kristofer Dahl Feb 5 2009, 12:55 PM
Hello,
I am happy to present a very nice, traditional piece of music which Dejan has prepared for us. It is highly "doable" - so definitely worth checking out if you are new to the acoustic guitar. You will realise that having bassline and a melody going on at the same time doesn't necessarily need to be extremely hard. It is however very rewarding as it can make a single guitar sound like an ensemble.

We call this an exclusive bonus - because it is the very first complete lesson with the latest version of the player - try watching one of the close-ups in the the slow parts, with quality set to high in fullscreen more!
If no new major bugs are revealed - we will encourage all instructors to move to this new player/format as soon as possible - in other words
all future updates will eventually be in this format.
Having said this - I would be very grateful if you let us a know about any bug you find (big or small). If possible provide info about your browser, flash version (right click on the player, then click "about...") and a screenshot.
Thanks Dejan for your killer lessons and daring "testing" temperament!
PS Don't forget to reload the page if you don't see any video.

This looks really good. I would like it so that if you pause the video and move the slider to the beginning it stays paused but aprt from that I think the new player is great.

hey, I hate to be that guy, but it won't work on my firefox
works fine in IE, but I recently started using firefox, and the video simply won't play. I did an update for firefox not too long ago too.
Not too big of a deal though, because I can just use IE

Sounds like it could be something with your flash version, can you try downloading the most recent flash version here:

(click the link while using firefox)
...and let us know if it changes anything? Thanks!

I foudn a tiny bug, on the small player, the lengt-wide isn't good. It looks a bit like a widescreen picture in a normal screen frame.

I wish this was a bug but isn't - the small player loads the widescreen video in 4:3 just as you said. We aren't really sure we will be developing the old player any further.

Indeed, the time it takes to develop are probably more expensive then the advantages it gives
The old player, as it is now works, just not perfect.

Almost all instructors have made the switch - we will still be seeing some of the old kind on the main page though (for yet ~ a couple of weeks).
