I have a hard decision to make, whether or not to buy the DigiTech DF7 Distortion Factory or the Roctron Metal Planet. I have $100 USD to spend. I am hoping for some feedback on the two pedals and/or if anyone has any experience with either.
Thanks in advance! This post has been edited by Alucard: Jan 1 2008, 08:23 AM -------------------- |

Thanks in advance! i have a zoom g9.2tt, but i think you need at least the g7 zoom to get a good sound, one of the two models with tubes. I also got the bottom end zoom model g1.x, same chip, but it does not have the good quality sound of the g9.2tt I have heard good things about the DF7. |

I don't know anything about the rocktron but the df-7 is pretty popular among the metalheads here at GMC.
I personally would suggest getting the metal muff for a distortion pedal. This post has been edited by JVM: Jan 2 2008, 01:50 AM -------------------- Gear: Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster, Gibson '67 RI Flying V, Mesa Boogie F-30 112 combo, crazy pedals.

Or something like this :
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Bos...edal?sku=151328 I'm not sure what quality is that modeling they did in Digitech...I don't recommend you any modeling pedals or multieffects..Rocktron is not very famous for their distortion pedals..Also I hear their chorus pedal which was not very good at all..Look at some of the boss pedals ... -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

I personally would suggest getting the metal muff for a distortion pedal. +1! Awesome pedal. From my personal experience don't get a MT-2, its really.. Just not my favorite pedal, to harsh and piercing. tj This post has been edited by Tjchep: Jan 2 2008, 03:28 AM |

I just saw a proposition of Metal Muff ...
I'll have to go +1 on that... Electro-harmonix stuff is just great and sometimes pricey which is not the case with the metal muff..So go for it -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

Wow - a debate on: "Is Pavel a metalhead or not?" 95% of my playlists are metal bands, but i don't see a reason why i should wear some crazy T-Shirts and have long hair to prove i am a metalhead Life is much more than being true to metal. I also like players who can REALLY play metal and look like they don't even play guitar than metalheads who are "TRUE" but can't even play a C-Major scale
Isn't a "guitarist" a good enough word to describe who am i? Back on topic: Stay away from cheaper Zoom pedals - i had experience with it and i wouldn't suggest it. I love DF7 so, as you expected, i will vote for it. Bogdan: DF7 is a high quality distortion modeling pedal. Never disappointed me. A LOT of GMC-ers have DF7 here. -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

Well if it works good for you Pavel than it will work good for Alucard also , and since his decision was between digitech and rocktron I think its solved now I never used/heard pedal so I was doubtful about the "modeling" part

Well you can hear it in all of my lessons I Use DF7 an Digidelay which are both Digitech pedals. Would never change them for some other pedals, at least for now. I know the choice of pedals also depends on the amp you have so as long as i have this Avt50 amp i am completely happy with these two Digitech pedals.

Hehehe nice..I also have two digitech pedals in my boss pedal board eheh ...I don't think that digitech is somewhat inferior to other brands out there like boss, mxr ,electro-harmonix..They are all very good so It all comes down to individual taste

Totally agree. Unless you want to sound like a space ship, cheap zooms will let you down. They have nothing in the way of distortion. Correct -------------------- Don't Panic.

Stay away from cheaper Zoom pedals - i had experience with it and i wouldn't suggest it. +1 on that. Especially the distortion is absolutely awful on the old ones. -------------------- My bands homepage

Forget both of these and get something more decent - like Boss MT2 or Muff.
