That's one of my absolute least favorite songs of Andy's.

My bandmate showed this to me. This is some wild playing. Looks neat, and sounds pretty good. This guy has to have some strong hands to perfectly execute all that acoustic tapping.

Also, if you like fingerstyle acoustic then http://www.candyrat.com/artists/AntoineDuFour/Development/, because I think he's even better than Andy in many ways.

Justin King and Trace Bundy are my favorites though.

Posted by: Guitar Master123 Feb 20 2007, 07:18 PM

err... how come it says the Andy McKee thread and I didn't put it there?

Posted by: InstruMental Case Feb 20 2007, 11:47 PM

Doug made a seperate Andy McKee post not knowing that this one was about him, so I merged his post with this one, and added that to the description so people would know.

Posted by: Guitar Master123 Feb 21 2007, 12:19 AM

Wait, you can do that!?!

Posted by: InstruMental Case Feb 21 2007, 12:40 AM

Yes, I'm modding and helping keep this forum rolling for Kris.

Pretty hypnotic, I mean in a good way. Kind of put me in a bit of a trance. Sounded like he was using a wah at first, but I don't think I saw one. Was he using a phase shifter, or something like that, or does he just play like that. Really sort of floats I think, can sting, but still always floating.

he's great. i had my metronome on. I listened to about half his song and you know, he sounded good against the metronome. then I changed the rate of the metronome and you know, he still sounded good against the metronome. it is a basic beat, bass snare bass snare. but his playing sounds good against the metronome, no matter what tempo I set it at. or at least that was how I felt.

Yeah, phaser or flanger or something.

I think the studio version is alot better though, he sings and plays so extremely good on the studio version.
The sound is also excellent.

Well I was messing around on youtube and I ran into this guy and was impressed to say the least. He plays a slap acoustic with harmonics, and he just is crazy. It's incredibly peaceful and should be played as music for every elevator in the world!
