GMC Forum _ Introduce Yourself ! _ What Up Gmc!

Hey everyone.

First I must say that I stumbled upon this website by complete accident. I was on youtube and found Kristofer Dahl's video, "What to play when you suck!" His explaination of the "bas-mother-finger" was pricless. I saw his advertisment to this website, and the rest is history.

Since browsing this site, I now have aquired a new guitar idol: MURIS VARAJIC!!!! There are not enough words in the english speaking world to describe that man's talent.

Here are some tidbits of info about me. I started out as a drummer 23 years ago; I do still play. I got into recording engineering and established my own studio. I started playing guitar about 10-12 years ago, mainly because I could never get a guitarist to record with. (I live in a small town in Texas; not too many musicians around).

I love all kinds of music. My former guitar idols include Eric Johnson, Greg Howe, Russ Freeman, Carl Verhayen, Steve Lukathier, etc. Like I said earlier, MURIS is the man!!

Anyways, I look foreward to hearing from anyone and everyone!

Later,
Shad

Hey Muris!

This is an honor! I have so many questions it is hard to know where to begin.
On your Van Halen style lesson, you did a section where you where chiming the strings with your picking hand. Is there a secret to that? I can get the octave harmonic and sometimes the 5th, but it is not as clear as when you demonstrate it.

BTW, your A open chord lesson is very cool. I was playing around with it at our youth church service, and everyone was like "Oh man!! Thats beautiful! when did you write that one?" I of course gave props to you and this website and went on to say that I wish I had written something like that!!

Shad
