This topic could get edgy. One that bothers me is an abbreviation for...well...just reverse the abbreviation "For The Win."

There so much annoying words nowadays, i could write a novel about them, most of them are acronyms that teenagers use to comunicate each other online...

But i must admit i like two slangs

After all this I wonder what was the first internet slang word used was.. I think I may have to go google now.

In 1975, Raphael Finkel of Stanford University compiled a collection of hacker slang, the Jargon File, from technical cultures, such as the MIT AI Lab, the Stanford AI Lab (SAIL) and others, of the old ARPANET AI/LISP/PDP-10 communities. Two items on this list in current use as Internet slang are "flame" and "loser". By 1990, the Jargon File had been enriched with examples of smallhand used in talk mode between 2 terminals, (for example, "BTW", "FYI", and "THX") as well as some slang expressions in use on Usenet and new commercial networks like CompuServe (for example, "LOL", "ROTF", and "AFK").

A friend of mine uses that one so often, it's really annoying...
One that bothers me is an abbreviation for...well...just reverse the abbreviation "For The Win."I'm a frequent WTF sayer / writer myself...I was the first to start with it in my circle of friends, like 3 years back. Gotta admit, even spoken I just say the letters W T F in german. And it spread...all my friends do it nowadays. And yes...we're all over 30.

You need to play World of Warcraft to understand that AFK is like walking away for 10 minutes unannounced. Where BRB is like a bathroom break.

heheh I didn't know FTW was "For the win". I never actually got into this internet slange thing. I though FTW was something like "Forward!" like on old cassete players
