i've been on gmc.net for a bit but never really got into the forum. but it's a lazy friday evening with steaks on the bbq and potatoes in the oven so i figured i'd sit around and read a bit.
posted my "guitar story" in the "why did you start playing" thread, so no need to repeat it.
as for players i really dig, i'm all about slash (who isn't?!?!), mike mccready, angus young, duane allman, tony iommi, john fogerty, jimmy page, gary rossington ... mostly power bluesy players. not so much into the metal shredder dudes - though i have immense respect for their playing - i just don't get into it.
my primary guitars are my gibson custom shop slash lp (i LOOOOVE this guitar) and an '81 lp custom silverburst. i also have a lp standard desert burst (50s neck) with sd alnico II pros, lp standard plus in transparent black (60s neck) with sd pearly gates, gibson sg standard and a gibson songwriter deluxe acoustic. my amps are a marshall jcm slash through a 1960a 4x12 cab (primary amp) and a marshall silver jubilee 2553 through the matching silver jubilee 2x12 cab.
yes, i'm a huge slash nerd. and something of a collector.
anyway, seems like this is a great place full of cool people - looking forward to learning more and helping out when i can.
