Is There A Good Single Pickup For Metal?

Jun 24 2008, 02:52 AM	Learning Apprentice Player & Challenge Star Posts: 1.995 Joined: 10-March 08 From: Albany NY USA	I have a Fender Showmaster Strat with the standard S-S-S pickup layout. It has Seymour Duncan pickups that sound great when I play a bluesy, clean sound. I also love to play really distorted metal, and they just don't seem to fit the bill without a humbucker. I absolutely love my guitar, and was wondering if there was a single bridge pickup I could put in that would give a similar metal humbucker sound? I have to say that I never tried any of those pickups since all my guitars always had humbuckers in the bridge position anway, but the super distortion is not a bad pickup, so if this one is available in single coil format this might be a good choice. Never heard or played through a Dimarzio in single coil,but they make great products and if these guys say they cook,then I`m sure they do!
