There's everything you need in Santa's goodie bag wink.gif

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/hammer..._for_beginners/

This is a very good combo of exercises for pull offs, but let me know if you feel it is too easy for you, ok?

Regarding the funky business, the next step would be creating one bar rhythm patterns, using specific chords wink.gif

Let's take the E9 for instance (x76777) and try to play the following pattern:

1x3x x2x4 xxxx xxxx

and

1234 xx34 12xx xxxx

As you might've guessed, I have divided a bar into 16th notes and the ones marked with x are mutted - play them using 'chuck a chuck' while the numbered 16th notes have to be played, using the E9 chord.

Can you emulate these two rhythmic formulas for me? biggrin.gif Please let me know if there's anything unclear smile.gif

Cosmin

Hey Renato! I think it's good! I am having a very difficult time to manage hearing the un-amped guitar laugh.gif, but I think you got it! wink.gif

This is the way in which you construct funky grooves biggrin.gif I have more examples like these for ya - shall we try some more? But please find a way to raise that volume biggrin.gif if possible, if not, I'll try to adjust my ears to it laugh.gif Then I will blame you for being startled by dog whistles laugh.gif

I totally but TOTALLY recommend the album 'Hit the floor' by Breakestra wink.gif Those guys are absoultely FUNKtastic biggrin.gif Listen to Extreme - 'Pornografitti' and 'Waiting for the punch line' these two are their best albums in my opinion wink.gif

I will think of some other bands and guitarists - oh Reggi Wooten, Victor Wooten's brother would be an interesting fellow to listen to tongue.gif

Now, let's see your ideas and the 2 grooves I provided wink.gif

i actually have all Extreme albums biggrin.gif, i will check those other guys, ty.

im still working on the rhythms, btw there's something that i also want to work, the theory behind the 7ths chords, i know how to build them, but i don't really know the proper name of each build, and for example if you play a C Major Chord you can play a D minor, a E minor so on, so on and it will sound good, but what about the 7ths? how do they fit in the whole thing?

You mean harmonizing a scale using 7th chords?

Well, it goes like this: M7 m7 m7 M7 7 m7 m7b5 M7

All the 7ths are like that because you can only use notes belonging to the scale you are harmonizing, so they are falling into place like this smile.gif

Let me know if I hit the right spot?

So for Example you could play a Major C Chord and then a Em7 and it would sound cool?

one thing: explain that 7? why is it a 7 and not a M7 or a m7?

Hey Renato! Yes it is! Dominant 7th chord - 1 2 5 b7

About the harmonizing- yes, if you play the chords in that order, you will harmonize the scale using 7th chords which are always very nice sounding smile.gif

Hey Cosmin!

So far, i found that starting with the 3rd beat can be a bit trick than with the 1st, 2nd or 4th, and the hardest pattern that i have fought so far is a variation of 1x3x x2x4 it goes like this xxxx x2x4 xxxx 1x3x for some reason i find it tricky as hell biggrin.gif

any ways here are the videos with the ones you assign me on.

the 1xx4 xx3x x2xx 1xxx is also a tricky one laugh.gif
