Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Cem!

Congrats on your first REC at GMC! This shows that you've been working hard on your guitar playing. You have a very good average technique. This is not an easy lesson, those shred connectors are really tricky and you are getting a good sound of them.

There are some details that you could consider to improve this video both regarding playing and technical stuff.

- It would be great if you can make your tone sound better on this videos. It will allow us to analyze better how you manage picking and dynamics, and it will make it sounds cooler. Check this video: LINK

- I notice that you have to adjut a bit the timing of the faster connectors, for example the ones played on the first riff. You are making them sound good, but timing could flow smoother there.

- The tapping lick could sound tighter and more defined.

- As I said previously, I cannot check your dynamics but it feel like there is some more room to it comparing your take with the original.

Other than that this is on the right track! Keep on rocking.

Hi Cem, well done for putting up a REC take! Hopefully it will encourage you to do more

I agree with Gab about the physical things you need to improve.. but I quite like your tone smile.gif

The two most important elements to work on to get your take sounding better would be timing, which Gab has covered and then muting unwanted strings.

There are a few instances in the video where I can hear other strings ringing which makes the riffs and licks less clear to the listener. Observe your picking hand when you play and see when those unwanted sounds occur - see if it has anything to do with hand position. You may just not be covering the unused strings well enough - or it may just be a case of accidentally hitting other string with your pick.

Hey there! Nuno's style is not easy to duplicate. He's ultra tight in both cases - timming and muting precision. I think you did quite a good job getting really close to his original sound.

There are two things that took the attention at the very first moment of listening - timming and background noise. Your playing precision is quite descent (just a moment or two where your fingers failed a little) and doesn't leave much to complain (good job) but the timming goes off too often out of sync - that's the highest priority to improve it.

As for the noise I'm not sure where coulkd be the source but for that amount of distortion (low) there should not be so muhc of it. Recheck your recording devices smile.gif
