The stock plugins in reaper get better with each version. It reminds me of Logic a bit in that it's got it's own built in tool set which lets you get lots of work done without having to install anything else and lets you open your projects anywhere as long as you've kept your plugin selection to the stock bits. Of course, there are some plugins that are so common that one can usually get away with using them and then travel the project to another studio/home studio. Still, the better the selection that's built in, the better the DAW.
