Volume And Tone Knobs, how to stop them from moving

Jun 7 2008, 04:15 PM	GMC:er Posts: 9 Joined: 9-March 08 From: USA	Hey GMC's On one of my guitars the tone and volume knobs move after you get to zero or ten. If I turn the knob to zero and try to turn a little more the knob gets loose and the whole thing moves. I tryed tightening it down but it didn't work. How could I stop it from moving? Jun 7 2008, 05:15 PM	Learning Tone Guru - Community Coordinator & Moderator Posts: 6.319 Joined: 24-September 07 From: Sittingbourne, UK	I had this problem on a guitar once, if you remove the rear plate, and uscrew the volume or tone knob completly get yourself some of these types of washers its called a shakeproof or star washer. put one of them onto the shaft of the volume/tone knob then reasemble, the little blades bite into the wood slightly and you shouldnt have the problem anymore.
