GMC Forum _ Gabriel Leopardi _ Jeff Lynd's Thread

Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Jun 27 2012, 10:26 PM

Hi Jeff!! Welcome to your http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=43110&st=20 thread!!

Could you please tell me a bit about you, your musical tastes, influences, strengths and weaknesses? I would need some videos of you playing rhythm and solo guitar, so please post your best material here. If you have some music or ideas of your own, also post them here. Also let me know how you think that I can help you and what are your expectations for our job. You can check the other Army's thread to discover the different modalities of this project.

The principles of our Army are:

+ Improve your technique
+ Make music and solos
+ Have fun
+ Destroy the enemy (hahaha not realy just kidding... )

You take it seriously, man! smile.gif

Hi Gabriel!

Thank you for to enter your army! smile.gif

So, where I should start..

My musical taste's very coloured, RadioHead,Metallica,RHCP,Dredg,Biffy Clyro and Mozart, he was a genius! I think we can say the alter rock is close to me, but I am "eat everything".

Who had influenced me, David Gray,Paul Gilbert,Mark Engles,Ed O'Brien, Thom Yorke.

As I wrote it already, now everything I have to start from the zero. (crappy feeling)
When my accident happened, I lost every knowing, everything.

anyway,
Here I am, i I' like ask from you to help me to learn again! smile.gif

Have to learn the left and right hand techniques from the very beginning.
I don't have big expectations , if I am able to play simple things after a half-year I will be happy, because I know it takes much times.

Bye

Ok, let's start!

I would like to see you playing any musical lesson from our archive. I have many "in the style of..." lessons that could work for this. I want to see you playing some rhythm and melodies....

these are some ideas,,, but you can choose any other if you want...

Then, we can start with some technique exercises....

what do you think?

Hey!

Sounds really cool, thanks Gab!

I' choose this one: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Indie-Rock-III-Pixies/ Indie rock's m favorite too!

I'm currently practicing Ben's picking lesson (http://http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Picking-Hand-Basics/), so before the Indie's I can record this even.

Gab, what are you using for recording? I never did before, any preferred stuff?

I now a little bit exciting because of the record blink.gif

Bye

Well, there are many ways to record depending on the hardware and software that you have. I use a Pod HD 500 and Nuendo to record audio. What equipment and software do you have?

Hey Gab!

Sorry, I not lost just I started working again and it's so exhausting. wacko.gif

My equipment right now:
- BigSon guitar (similar than than Gibson LP)
- VOX Tonelab EX (just noticed right now it has a usb connector)
- PC with built sound card

Your Pod HD 500 must bee awesome! wink.gif
I looked Nuendo sw, but there's no free version? So I have to look for a free software version or buy I didn't decided it.

Hi Jeff, you just need a Multitrack to record. You can use Your guitar connected to the Vox tonelab and this one connected via USB to your computer. Regarding Multitrack softwares... you can check Reaper because they have a free version...

Maybe you are using too much distortion, or any of the strings that you are not playing is doing some unwanted noises... check this two things.
