Worst Band Member Experience. Options

First I'll start with this!


I've played in a lot of bands covering a lot of genres. When those lights hit you on stage and you feel the crowd perk up, you can't stop your adrenaline from pumping!! It's one of the greatest feelings in the world. I was in a band that had a bit of traction and for months I was told, "we need to REALLY make this show count", which would bring me a lot of anxiety. But slowly I learned how to redirect that anxiety into workable energy.

But other people take all this anxiety and adrenaline to another place. I've played with dudes who couldn't play with out drinking before to help their nerves. Then there are times when they are just a complete drunken embarrassment. ( NOTHING is worse than playing with a drunk drummer. )

But what's your worst experience with a fellow band member? Or have YOU been the bad band member?

aw man, I used to listen to faster pussycat quite a lot back in the day. I think the intro solo for bathroom wall was one of the first lead parts I tried to learn on the guitar.

Too many to go into - half of the experiences were because of me.

Had a funny thing happen last night at the Foreigner/Styx show that sort of ranks in there.

I was there with my old band, catching up, and some guys around us started hanging out with us, we were all having a good time, singing and everything. Well, Foreigner vocalist said "put your arm around someone", so, I put my arm around one of the new dudes we were hanging out with, and then the song started: "I wanna know what love is".

We were sitting there with our arms on each others shoulders with that song playing, didn't know each other at all. Dude was like, "uh, maybe this isn't a good song for this".

That was my first conscious thought when I woke up this morning.

That is hilarious!! I can't say that has happened to me thank goodness but I did once forget to lock the wheels on my AC30, which meant it crept forward unbeknownst to me and when I stepped back I fell over it.
Right over it.
Much hilarity ensued but this was before camera 'phones. Thank heaven for small mercies. And no, I wasn't drunk,I don't even have that as an excuse.
But I do feel sorry for this guy..
