Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey Victor!

I went through your take a few times, as well as through original video and I think you got it really close. It is a simple lesson, made to keep you focused on timing and giving you enough time between position shifts/chord shifts. You tend to be just a slice more noisy just at the moment of shift and sometimes you are late just a little bit. See what Lian does - even the return of his right hand is related to the timing of the song - just like he would be strumming with a quarter note pulse. I think this kind of regularity and constant "in touch" with the song pulse, would help you even better, though it's nothing ciritical in your take, to fix. Well done!

Well played! Very solid picking and fretting. This is a simple lesson but involves some very important technique. This are BIG power chords that go beyond the standard two note/first and fifth type power chord. it can be easy to mis fret one of these and have not so great results. Not so here, you are fretting in a very solid way and the chords sound HUGE as they are intended to. You have a very firm striking technique which gives the chords good power. Your timing is also spot on. You are not drifting behind or rushing the beat. The most important thing in playing rythm guitar is actually staying locked in to the beat and you are doing a great job of. Score!!

Solid 8 from me.

Todd

Producing tight and noiseless position shifts in this kind of lesson would be a challenge for me as well. I have never really practiced it and it's much harder than it seems.

There are no real spottable mistakes here, it's just a matter of tightening the position shifts even more. Gab also mentioned some good tips for eliminating noise:

QUOTE
- Mute with your right hand palm when changing chords.
- Separate the fingers from when strings when moving from one chord to the other.
- Make the changes faster (so each chord is longer).

Having said this you do more than good enough for a level 2 lesson. Well done - you get an 8 from me!
