Here you have one more:

"Up the neck with chords"-lick

This lick keeps moving upwards through add9-chords, first Dmadd9, then Fadd9, Gmadd9, then Bbadd9. You could continue this even further if you want to. The pattern has an arpeggio sound/feel to it, as it only uses the notes within those chords, but the picking pattern doesn't involve sweeping, but alternate picking.

I've been trying that, but it doesn't seem to work for me :/

And to watch your first lick in HQ, I have to press the ^ and choose HQ.

Screw the rules (sorry :-)), you're getting a few from me now while I'm at it, just to keep this baby going.

Power metal style-riff

A simple riff in D minor ending out with some more exotic licks including both D harmonic minor and C# diminished. All alternate picking, and notice the change from 4/4 to 7/8 in the fourth bar! Otherwise it's pretty simple.

Exotica!

I have bit of a liking for exotic stuff, I admit. This one is in C lydian diminished. It starts out in 4/4, goes to 7/8 then 2/4. It may look intimidating, but once you get the hang of the rythm, it's quite some catching phrases to play. Also be aware of the small roll I do with my finger to play the notes F# and d on the 7th fret of the B string and the G string. I find this the most comfortable way of doing it, but you may not agree :-)

Yet another arpeggio lick

Not much to explain about this really, as it doesn't use any really not-seen-before patterns. Try and keep in mind that you want to avoid any unwanted noise when playing these kind of arpeggios! smile.gif

Sorry I dropped out for awhile Roger. I've been working on those collabs for Emir and Pedja and being a married dude I only have so many hours of "guitar time" a day. laugh.gif laugh.gif I'm done with the collabs now and have some new licks to start posting so I'll be back on the wagon and contributing regularly probably starting in the next couple of days. Thanks for working on this thread. Thanks to Ben and playaxeman for contributing as well. biggrin.gif
