They are legends biggrin.gif

If you haven't, check the musical movie "Tommy", they first wrote a rock opera in 1969, and in 1975 the movie with Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Jack Nicholson and others

Here's Elton John in "Tommy"

and my favorite "See me, feel me" from the movie

and the live performance at woodstock

...absolutely one of the greatest bands of all time. Pete Townsend is a musical genius. Daltrey was one of the greatest front men ever. Who's Next is my favorite album by them. It contains many of the Whos' greatest songs.

There is no point in me answering this as The Who are legends. Nothing can be said about them apart from good things

Best song

The Who rock!I used to have every single tape(in the tape days!)that the who put out.Their Live At Leeds album is a great one to get.If you get a chance to have a look for The Whos Kids are alright DVD as its has some great tracks on it and Keith Moon is a nutter on it!My grandfather used to see old moony driving around near him in a milk float,he was the ultimate rock bloke.I would have loved to have been at Oliver Reeds mansion when him and Keith were having their drinking sessions and trolly dolly sessions tongue.gif
Pete is a realy good guitarist, perhaps his lead isnt as good as his writing skills but that doesnt detract from the fact that he plays realy well

My top favourite band of all times. I used to be in a band playing only Who songs. We played through almost all Tommy at times. Check out Quadrophenia from 1973 and Who Sell Out from 1967, and great videos like: Kids are allright, 30 years of rhythm & blues, Live at Isle of Wight, the new Amazing Journey video and many more.

Pete is one of my favourite players, and you learn ALOT of chords when playing Who songs. His leads were mostly improvised and he was mabye not as good as Clapton, Page, Beck, but he had whole different thing going on, and he played mean rythm like his signature lightning fast strumming.

Today I think his leads are not nearly as good as it used to be, but he was driven by some awsome power in the old days that has faded with age, but he still plays mean accoustic guitar. smile.gif
