Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey mate!

This is a very nice take! I like the feeling and the execution generally, but there are a few aspects which need to be taken into consideration if you want to perfect your skills wink.gif

See, for instance, around 0:51 there's one of the spots in which you are a bit under pitch with the bend and 01:04 as well - this is a point where it's obvious that the bend needs more strength behind it wink.gif You need to use your thumb to receive strength - how to do that? Check out this little video below:

Notice how I hook my thumb over the neck when bending? smile.gif That's the support that the wrist needs in order to function properly when executing the technique.

All you need to do to get this lesson into perfect shape, is to focus a bit on polishing your bending technique and also cleaning up some passages, such as the one around 0:55 or 01:06

Keep up the good work!

Cosmin

Hey Thomas it's so cool to hear somebody tackling this beautiful piece.

You didn't quite get the clarity in that hammer/pull lick at 0:21 so it might be good to add more legato or just small hammer/pull phrases to your practise routine to get the fingers working in order.

As Cosmin said, the bending can sometimes be a bit out of pitch... this is often a matter of strength so it's just another aspect that would benefit from more practising of bending in general.

That fast run towards the climax is a bit awkward.. these runs are not easy. They're Yngwie style runs which don't stick to a specific timing.. these kinds of runs benefit from an economy picking / legato approach just like Yngwie and (probably) Marcus use. That's the way I would do it and it usually the only way to get that kind of relaxed flow. Alternate picking every note just doesn't enable that same sound.

Thanks for sharing your performance with us and Happy Christmas to you too smile.gif

Hey man! Nice to see You working on some lessons constantly. Yes - it is always hard to play exactly like someone else smile.gif It's worth trying to compare how Your hand look on the vid and how Marcus do it. Sometimes the kee to success is hidden in our hand positions smile.gif The biggest challenge is to keep the vibrato amoung the same pitch change. When we listen to MArcus You can hear hot the notes go flat and pitch-up within exactly the same amount. In Your case we hear that some motions in one vibrato run are going a bit off comparing to others. First of all try to search for exactly the same movement width to get even pitch through all vibrato process. I hope I didn't make things harder to understand than they really are smile.gif
