I bought Steve Vai's new CD (sound Theories Volumes 1 & 2) on his website, even though I had to pay $7.95 shipping (!) but it turned out to be worth it because I am one of the lucky one-in-four (2,500 in 10,000) who got a satin pass to get into the Steve Vai meet-and-greet and all sorts of other goodies I suspect!
I am so excited and its totally worth going to a concert on a school night to MEET STEVE VAI! I havn't even listened to the album yet (I most definitely will soon) but it would probably still be worth it without the CD.
!!!

Ahh dont be. More than likely. You will talk about guitar. Then just say something like this "Yeah, i take lessons from this site called Guitarmasterclass.net. Its an amazing site, and ive learned tons from. We have tons of amazing instructors. You should check it out sometime. And maybeeeeee (with a lil grin, or how my g/f calls it. A cocky smile
) you could do a lesson of your own. Its great stuff"

Hey man, that's so cool. I also got one of the satin passes from the special edition of his new CD. I'm excited out of my mind that I'll be able to meet "his royal vai-ness"
And as you said, it's worth the high price of S&H if you get a pass. It's sure to be a great time.
I'll try and get some pics and if I do, I'll definitely post them on GMC. And of course, if I even get a chance to talk to him, I'll try to mention GMC. Ahhh, September 23rd seems so far away...
P.S. Which show are you going to Avenite?

Hey, ya never know. GMC survived the great guitar lesson massacre of 2007. Stranger things have happened.

I'm going to the Sept. 12 show in S.F.
I finished the first disc of Sound Theories (Disc one is Vai songs, new and old, with the orchestra and Disc 2 is songs he wrote FOR the orchestra and he does not play along, but I believe there is another electric guitarist) and it was Great!

Agreed, it's an awesome album!
And just think, if 2 different people tell Steve about GMC at separate shows, he might say: "Hey, maybe this website is worth checking out"
And before you know it, he'll be one of GMC's instructors...At least that's the plan
