I just got some promo travel trip from an agency, and considering using it on spring, it's on Tenerife. Never went out so far, I was in Russia, Moscow and Yaroslavl, and that was my farthest trip from home.
What are far away places you had the chance to visit? What are places that left biggest impression on you?
i use to travel alot, France, Italy, Switzerland, when i was like 0-5 years old, my parents told that infact i learned to walk, for the first time, in Switzerland.
But i don't remember much from those trips; The only thing i remember was in Switzerland being stuck in ice and some fire trucks toys.
i also remember losing this cow marionette in a cruise somewhere in, i don't know.. Italy maybe.,
My farthest trip was to New Zealand, and I think it will forever stay the farthest since there are not many options left
Australia and NZL made a big impression, also California.
I dont travel much at all.
I have only been to Stockholm once and also to Vasa in Finland
Several years ago, I worked in Sudan for about half a year. Otherwise Germany is about the farthest for me.
The absolute farthest I've been away from the UK is Barcelona. I don't travel as much as I want to.. hopefully that will change when the band starts touring
The farthest I've been was a Road Trip down the West Coast of America. From Seattle to LA on a Motorcycle.
Those are really some great places! I'm planning some trips to Tenerife, but it seems that I must go through several flights, so perhaps I'll visit Barcelona too, it seems like a beautiful city
UAE! Dubai is a beautiful city, full of breathtaking contrasts
I've travelled, visited and lived in various different places.
I was born in what is now called the Yemen, grew up mainly in Ireland and the UK but also spent some time as a child in Egypt, Kenya and in Germany. Had holidays as a child in Spain, Italy, Greece and France. As an adult I lived for nearly 1 year between Hong Kong and Japan and also stayed in South Africa, Australia, Singapore and Kuwait but lived mainly in the UK and Ireland before moving to Spain nearly 7 years ago. Holidays as an adult in lots of different places.
Oh, you have to travel!
I've been to Denmark (off course), Sweden, Norway, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, UK (England and Scotland), The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, France, Spain, Monaco, Italy, Greece (Crete and Rhodes), Malta, Romania, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, USA (New York, Florida, California and a couple more states), Australia (Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia) and New Zealand (North and South Islands).
This year I did not travel. We planned a trip to Cyprus, but my GF got sick before departure
New Zealand is on the other side, they walk on their hands and hamburgers eat people!
I really enjoy New Zealand, and that is truly far away.
I still need to go to Asia and South America.(North and South poles too, but they are cold and expensive)
I am in Nepal. Last August, I traveled to US about 10000 miles one way. Then, in US I traveled from San Francisco on the west to New York on the East, Niagara on the north to Houston on the south!.. I must have traveled 30000 miles in total within that month.
Furthest I've been has to be either Boston or Dominicana, not sure
I've never been out of the U.S. The furthest I've been away from my Arkansas state is the northwest corner of Arizona: Grand Canyon. This is when our family traveled to New Mexico and Arizona. We went to the Meteor Crater, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, and the Grand Canyon. First, I wanna say that I really enjoyed myself before you hear all the rants.
I was amazed at how vast the crater was, but other than that, just a big hole in the ground. The painted desert was cool. Our family hiked a little bit in it. But I must say I thought the sand was rainbow color - so did my Mom. And the Petrified Forest was a let down. I thought it was upright dead trees petrified. But it was stumps and other logs petrified in a "forest." But it was kinda cool, even still. There was a big crow sitting on top of a sign saying "Collecting Petrified Wood Prohibited," as if to assume guard for the national park. The Grand Canyon was pretty stinkin' awesome too. But somehow I expected something more. I don't know what. We also solemnly visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial. This is in honor of those who lost their lives in the bombing of that city.
You could easily say I have a wild imagination and sometimes - if not more - gets in the way and is a disappointment. But that's not to say the trip was a disappointment. I wouldn't trade it for anything, except to go up in a spaceship and just look at our Earth from the moon. I would just love to stand there and just look.........
Brazil.
My wife is Brazilian and we were there in September for me to meet her family and to bring her son back to Ireland with us.
The culture was so different to Ireland and the UK but going there has helped me understand some of my wife's ways and attitudes. The food there is great and there are a lot of attractive women.
It was nice not being in a tourist area, as you can see the country or at least that part of the country as it actually is. The people are friendly and very accommodating.
I've been all over the place to be honest, I'm suprised at the places I've been when thinking about it.
America 3 times (Maryland, LA and Minnesota)
Sweden (Stockholm, lived there for 6 months working on a social network)
Denmark 3 times (Aalborg, I've done the Aalborg Metal Festivals website 4 years running)
Germany 4 times (3 as a child that I can barely remember, and once to Baveria)
Ireland (don't recall it, as I was a child).
Finland 3 times (I've got loads of friends there, and we used to go to Tuska Metal Festival)
That's a few air miles!
The farthest I've been is Belgrade Serbia
Just kidding
I have been in Norway, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgum, Austria, Switzerland, Partugal, England, Spain, France and Italy
The farthest that I have been is USA. I came to Miami and Orlando 13 years ago.
Hmm, California when I lived in the UK, Egypt when I lived in the US ... back in the day Egypt was close, now California is close so I guess it is all relative ...
Did bit of a world surfing trip around the globe. Indonesia, Japan, France, Spain, Portugal, England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, America, Mexico, Fiji, New Zealand back to Australia. I've also been to China
I am fortunate.. as I have traveled quite a lot. Born and live in California but I have been to nearly every state in the US. Hawaii and NYC about 10 times each, Europe twice (Germany, London, Paris), Canada twice, Mexico many times, Japan twice, Hong Kong twice, and I have traveled extensively thoughout China.. been there 8 times. My daughter has yet to turn two years old and she has traveled to China four times already
