How can a guy that's been playing guitar for >30 years not know that?

You'd be surprised. Lots of these "old guys" are like that.

Think about it. They didnt have the resources back when they were learning that we do. You figure it out for yourself. Or like he said, do what someone showed you. There was no GMC in 1980.

Oh, and if anyone says I love Iron Maiden's tone!!!!! Its not the tone of this video they are speaking of.
