Hello

I put a .68 on my 7 string its in Ab
It feels like u have to press very hard to play the 1st fret, its hard to mute and play like sweeps on

You might need to file your nut if you put a big string on. If you don't the string action can get higher, and the string will be harder to press down at the first fret.

+1 for Saddle while. Your string might be too high. Nut slots depth adjustment is one of most often services I do. Sometimes string doesnt reach the bottom of the slot if it's too narrow.

For my baritone guitar, I replaced the original saddle with a bone one that has the slots arranged in such a manner that they will fit thick and heavy strings - if you plan to use that guitar with heavy strings all the time, this sort of enhancement would be interesting. Now, if there is a floyd unit on the axe, it's not possible sad.gif That's why I dislike floyd rose trems laugh.gif

The .64 sits now, plays well and so, well i dont know if this unorthodox methode worked
