I love watching football and F1, I play pool (I'm captain of my pub's team) and love riding my bike (ZX636).
I work as a librarian in Southampton - and, no, it's nothing like you might think it is!
Musical tastes: Blues, rock, pop, metal, indie... it's probably easier to list what I don't like! Favourite band: Judas Priest (from SWD to Painkiller), but I'm happy listening to any good music... and some embarrassing rubbish, too!

Hi everyone!
I am a complete newby to this guitar playing business - I've got a very cheap second-hand guitar (Fender Squire) about three months ago, just to see if I could do something with it.
Well I've given it a go, I'm enojying it and - thanks to my mate, Jeff, and GMC - I'm making progress
Now I'd like to get a half-decent guitar and amp... but I've no idea what to look for. I think I'm going to need something with a thin neck, because I've got quite small hands... but apart from that, I'm a bit lost.
What sort of things should I look for when buying guitar and amp? I'd like to play a really wide range of music, and I'd like something that could take me as far as playing in a band (you've got to have a goal, haven't you?
).

Hi y'all!
I'm Ric: I come from Southampton, and have been playing for all of about three months. I've had some basic instruction from a friend - but Kris's video lessons have really helped me a lot in just the last week. Cheers Kris!
I'm still firmly in the "beginner" section - but even that is quite fun. And, yes, I am making heavy use of a metronome!
