GMC Forum _ Bands and Guitarists _ Jesu Joy

Posted by: The Farmer Jan 26 2010, 06:36 PM

Hi everybody

I was watching 40 year old virgin the other day and at the end of the movie you hear a sound clip of Jesu, joy by Johann Sebastian Bach performed by Apollo 100.

I really liked their arrangement of the song(good 70`vibe too it smile.gif) , and was in a way thinking of how cool it would be if an instructor here on GMC gave it a bash, so that we mere mortals could be able to play it wink.gif

I mean I could probably figure it out by my self but I`m pretty sure that some instructures here a bit into the neoclassical scene would be able to pull out a great cover of this great piece of music smile.gif

What do you guys think?

And more importantly what to you think of the song?

Here`s a link to the song

nice song, not like so much that 70' arrangement on it tho. I'm actually working on some classic pieces so, I think I could give it a try to this one too.

Neo classical speaking is great.

The original is great to.

This 70 arrangement is a bit off IMO

Cool Lian, I´m sure you will be able the rock that piece out, and be sure that i´ll bookmark your lesson if you decide to make one smile.gif

so the 70 may be a bit off I agree to that but there´s something about it that makes me think of jon lord or some uriah heep when I listen to that arrangement smile.gif

I dont know wether hammond organ is used in neoclassical music, but personally I think it would kick ass whit some growling hammond organ in the backround of an awesome guitar solo or lead smile.gif
