Merhaba, Killer Riffs Options

Hello

My name is Serkan Gürcebe and I have been playing the guitar for more than 10 years, yet I have recently achieved a basic level only after subscribing to GMC.

I have been using a Warlock case B.C.Rich and small Roland amphi and always try as many different genres as possible, but nowadays I have been practising Slayer style riffs. What I am planning to do is to practise a different genre everyday. like practising noeclassical style on monday and blues on tuesday, for example

I also have one instrumental song which can be found in youtube by writing my name and surname and I would like to complete the next one after writing a good solo on it.

Finally, I am comfortable in lessons up to level 6 but I take a look at other lessons which are more difficult as well to gain more knowledge and motivation. But so far GMC has always given the best lessons I have been looking for.

Awesome to have you here, how did you find us?

I think "S&G Andrássy Út" has some very cool ideas, and I absolutely love the Middle Eastern touch (remember my ears are Swedish!). Are you from that region? When the strings kick in I got chills, you should do another with a full arrangement!

I like to do this as well, if I work on heavy stuff one day - I will usually be sick of it the next day and want to play somethign softer.

I was checking tapping lessons on the internet and found your video advertising about GMC.

I am actually Turkish and tried to give this oriental sound by using Phrygian scale on different tones.

Cool, that will give you a great advantage in terms of sounding original. Personally I love Middle Eastern influences in western music!

Hey man! Thanx for Your kind words - great to know You enjot the site that much

Thinking of Your words I had an conclusion it's not a good idea - I mean playing many generes is ok but I don't think it will giuve You expected profits if You really want to split it to a daily practice. Soem things need to be known and practiced in live playing so those could become something natural and remembered in Your playing. In my opinion it's worth to give a bit more time for each genere. Otherwise Yoiu might find yourself forgetting what You've learn last week.

My proposition is sort of week for a genre and then one week of summary when You try Your skills in each genre everyday of the week.Sort of a self-exam. I think this way You'll have bigger chances to learn something an keep it in Your "skills box" for a longer period

I'm checking your song while writing this and I can say that your phrasing and melodies are very unique for me, it must be that your Turkish roots makes your playing sound exotic to me (I'm from Argentina), and that makes your song even more very interesting! You definitely should continue exploring this horizons, arrange this one, record new ideas, add drums, bass, other instruments. There is a lot of beauty on your music, keep going!

There are some moments, mostly when you play arpeggios, where I note that your guitar is not perfectly tuned. You should check if this is related to a tuning issue or something related to strings and calibration.

Your plan on covering a different style each day sounds very interesting and will make your practice motivating each day. I'm really curious to know how you feel after some weeks of practice, keep us updated!
