Simply Wonderful, It's time for a little showoff

Dec 19 2008, 12:05 AM	Learning Roadie Posts: 713 Joined: 20-May 08 From: copenhagen	Hi everybody.. On sunday, december 14th 2008 @ 7:20am I became a dad for the very first time.. A 3500 gram, 54 cm baby girl.. One of the hardest (and most rewarding) nights in my entire life came.. 11 hours of pain, not really knowing exactly what to do, but somehow it all came naturally.. it was a very moving, exhausting, difficult and trying time before she finally decided to come out.. While i cannot imagine how the pain was for my gf, I must say i have never seen a woman is so much pain and still be so cool and calm (considering what was happening). Anyways, thank you for sharing this happy moment with me.. now we just need the final things ready and done, so we can become a "real" family at home.. My gf got her first contractions thursday already, but they died out on friday.. during the night to saturday they came again, and they continued very irregular up until saturday @ 5pm, where they became very stable.. every 2-3 minutes.. we waited 3 hours with them coming steady before going to the hospital.. They estimated her being at around 4-5 cm's open at that time, and decided to keep us there.. While i cannot imagine how the pain was for my gf, I must say i have never seen a woman is so much pain and still be so cool and calm (considering what was happening). When she popped out, my gf tore up down below, and 4 people around us more or less panicked. Now that was a bit of a scare.. Apparently she tore more than what women usually do.. so she had to be sown together afterwards which took another 2 hours.. must have been the longest two hours in my life.. you have this pink image about how a birth will be, and then you go home afterwards.. well.. not this time.. Now 5 days after the birth my two girls still haven't come home yet, and it's honestly beginning to really bug me.. Problem is my gf cannot pee by herhelf.. they say it's something that can happen because of the presure thats being put down there when giving birth.. but it's really putting a strain on both of us mentally, which doesn't really help her either.. Then we just look at our baby girl, and we both get really really happy.. if we are lucky we can come home tomorrow, but it's depending on her being able to pee herself, or her being able to put up one of those tubes to relieve herself.. Here's hoping for the first.. Anyways, thank you for reading all the way through, and sharing this happy moment with me.. now we just need the final things ready and done, so we can become a "real" family at home.. Here she is.
