The way number one is the easy way to learn the modes, the number one is the way that is more useful and make more sense to exploit the modes. Regarding the Nickelback song,,, it's in Bm and it seems that they use standard tuning and maybe Drop D in any of the electric guitars. -------------------- My lessons

Okay so by now you know how bad my ear is but I gave it my best shot For 45min and this is what I got . I am playing in drop D using 6th string rooted power chords There are only 2 guitar parts as far as I can tell . The intro and bridge are the same ,and the verse's and chorus's are the same ( I think ) As far as I can tell the Intro part is a F#-A-B-A-B-A-B. The verse and chorus is just F#-A repeating . Now judging on my past experiences this may not be right but I hope I am at least close . I was using diatonic chords of Bm. -------------------- Never miss an opportunity to play

Well, that's not right mate. The song is in Bm. The first chord that appears is B minor, try to play it over the song when it appears and notice that it sounds the same. Then your have other 3 chords in the introduction. So the progression would be
Bm - ? - ? - ? - and it's repeated many times. They are tuning in 440. Try to first find the bass note of each chord, playing just one note on the lower string to find the chord. Could you try to find those 3 chords? -------------------- My lessons
