On this new collab we’ll work on a Ballad with the idea to apply correctly something that I see that is quite difficult to you. I mean, Bendings and Vibrato. In the bendings case, the problem generally has to do with tune, in other words, reach with this techinique the note that we want to hit. It’s very easy to go further than we have to with this technique or stay a little bit behind the note we want to reach. I noted this a lot, specially on the takes and it really make the take wrong. A way to exercise the bendings is take a note we want to reach, hear it, memorize it and then, from half or full step before, bend the string trying to reach exaclty the note we have memorized in a beginning. A cool tip to help ourselves is to bend over the note we want to reach with a synth string sound, so, we can check if we’re doing the right work.
Speaking about vibrato, is a marked up-down movement but without altered the note. This movement must be constant and balanced, imitating the singers’ vibrato sound. It musn’t sound like something forced, it must sound like a natural movement of the note. As example of musicians that works perfect the vibrato we have Steve Ray Vaughan, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, etc.
I’ve made the backing repeating twice the idea, so you can develop your solos and get the right climax.

Tempo: 60bpm

Chord Progression:

||: C / G / Am / F
C / G / F / Em /
Am Dm / G C / Am Em / F G ||

Deadline: 19th september

Let’s get on work guys!!

You're right. Cmaj is the key. You can use Cmaj or Am as well.

Sure. You can use it. But don't forget the bendings and vibratos. That's the topic where everybody should focus, but you can add some speedy licks if you feel it

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato
