Changing Strings For A Show... |

I change strings before every show and I try to do it at least 3 days before the show. I couldn't do it on time and I did it one day before the show this weekend and I had to tune my guitar many times during the show.
What about you? Do you change strings before a gig? How many days? -------------------- My lessons

I usually do it 3 to 6 days before a gig and never had any problems

2 days is good, I usually end up doing it on the evening on the day before the gig, so I get little detunes, depending what gig and what I play.

Day before the performance is quite enough, at least in my case!

When i was at the music education i changed strings the day before and used them the entire time. Friday to Saturday the week after. but when i will start doing normal gigs i will try and change strings at least 2 days before

yeah, 2 days here too, 1 is too little time to let it strech and 3 scares me too much to play it freely.

When I bought the strat, I carry it on 10-15 gigs in the case back then, and then I started using simple black gigbag. Nobody noticed it. If they do try, I have my blood on that guitar, it was with me on many gigs, so whoever steals it - he will be cursed
  + 1 on Cosmins tuning advices, if changing tuning, always pull the strings a bit and play them out strongly, with some bends, at least an hour before the show. When tunin the strings for the show do the same thing just before the stage, pull them out couple of times and play them out. Otherwise, they have the tendency to go to previous tenstion/pitch. For winter/cold temperature open gigs, this is crucial too. 2 day standard it is
