Then there's Curt Mitchell, I doubt it he'd be interested but that's for you Kris to find out.
Curt used to make those "In the style of" instruction videos. Don't know what he's got cooking now though. He's a skilled instructor and got a forum of his own. http://curt-mitchell.com/ EDIT: Sorry, I saw now the subject said "unknown", Curt perhaps isn't known to the broad masses but not completely unknown either. Eh... this is kind of a "I met Lassie" story but my younger brothers friend, Per Nilsson, plays guitar in Scar Symmetry. They lost the contact some years ago but when I started off playing the guitar I recall he offered to give me guitar instructions, that was in the early 90's. I didn't have the $$$ at that time and I regret it never happened. I belive he sold his sould to rock n roll (or death metal rather)
If I remember right he's always played a 7 string Ibanez. I don't have any contact information. Perhaps http://www.scarsymmetry.com/ will help. -------------------- My bands homepage

Do you still have that message I sent you awhile back with a whole bunch of names? Yes - thanks a bunch for it! Now is the time to use it: QUOTE Anyway, here’s a list of some of the players I recommend:
Paco Hernández www.youtube.com/user/PacoHRGuitar Paco is a really talented improviser who recently started putting videos of himself on YouTube. He’s very nice, and he even filmed a video specifically for Guitars Suck 6. His debut album was just released for free online. My guess is that he’d definitely accept an offer to do an instructional for GMC. Jean-Do Leonelli www.youtube.com/user/JeanDo www.myspace.com/742instru Jean-Do is another guy I know, and a friend of Paco’s I think. He lives in France, but his English is good. He first contacted me a couple of months ago, and submitted some nice melodic instrumental videos, one of which I used in Guitars Suck 5. He’s an extremely nice guy, and I bet he’d be happy to help out. Being a 7-string player, maybe a lesson by him could detail some of that. Recently he formed a 7-string duo with another guitarist named Art Rodriguez. The duo is called “7-4-2” (7-strings for two), and I recently edited/produced a performance music video for their first track, “Never Enough”: www.youtube.com/watch?v=je4qhDncXoo Kosta Vreto www.myspace.com/kostavreto https://www.youtube.com/user/kostavreto http://youtube.com/watch?v=Wrfb_iRVK48 Kosta is a really nice guy with a unique technical approach and a very cool rock-fusion sound. I think he’s filmed videos for G.S. three times now. Every time I’ve contacted him about appearing in another installment, he’s recorded and sent an awesome new video within just a few days. I can’t find his email, but I know you can contact him through his myspace page. My guess is that he could do something really special for right-hand technique, since he’s such a good hybrid-picker. Takakazu Nakamura https://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...akazu+Nakamura+ http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...ndID=1000014762 Taka is a young Japanese guitarist I recently discovered. He’d posted some technique videos filmed upside-down with a cellphone-camera on some obscure Japanese guitar blog, which I downloaded, edited and uploaded for him on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajGPuBYkXT0 Since then I’ve spoken with him several times, and asked if he’d record something for Guitars Suck 6. I wasn’t expecting anything, but he replied back with videos of four entire songs of his (which you can watch at the youtube link below his email address). Obviously his two-handed legato technique could make for an interesting GMC guest lesson. The biggest problem with him is that his English is poor, so a detailed explanation of his technique might not be very clear. But I bet he could tab everything out just fine. Ed DeGenaro www.eddegenaro.com www.myspace.com/eddegenaro I don’t know Ed well, but I’ve spoken to him a couple of times. He’s a fretless fusion player, so he might be able to do an interesting lesson about that. Rob Sbar Noesis www.rob-sbar.com www.myspace.com/therobsbarnoesis Rob is a really nice guy. I first heard him on one of the Shawn Lane tribute records. A good friend of mine takes private lessons with him, and he can’t say enough about Rob’s teaching. Rob will be filming for Guitars Suck sometime soon, so I assume he has a camera. Being a professional instructor I’m sure he could do a good guest lesson. He has a unique avant-garde sound, so his lesson could probably be a bit more jazzy. Pash Zaburuev www.zaburuev.ru www.myspace.com/fusionguitar Pash is an interesting funk/fusion player who contacted me recently. Check out one of his videos that’ll be appearing in G.S. 6: http://www.zaburuev.ru/video/www.zaburuev.ru-cat_walk.wmv Troy Grady www.troygrady.com www.troygrady.com/feedback.php Obviously an astonishingly talented player. His break-downs and tabs of complex solos he’s transcribed are among the best I’ve ever seen. He’s currently filming a shred documentary called “Cracking the Code”, so he certainly has the right equipment. I’ve never spoken to him before, but he sounds like a nice guy. I don’t think he’d have the time to do a lesson specifically for GMC, but he’s currently tabbing out Shawn Lane’s solo on “So What” for his own site, so maybe that could be duplicated on GMC. I know he’s done something similar with one of his previous transcriptions that appeared on a popular tab site. Stelios Arnaoutoglou www.stelios.tk http://www.myspace.com/guitarist_777 A personal friend of mine from Greece. I’ve only seen him on video once, but I know he has the equipment to record something. I really like his music (which you can find on his site), and he has a lot of technique to back it up. I bet he’d be happy to do something for GMC. And here are the names, websites, and email addresses for a bunch of other guys I’ve spoken with, used in Guitars Suck, etc… Andrew Roudny www.andrewroudny.com http://www.myspace.com/andrewroudny Christophe Godin www.christophegodin.com www.myspace.com/christophegodin Magnus Olsson www.magnusolsson.com www.myspace.com/magnusolsson Derryl Gabel www.derrylgabel.com Rick Renstrom www.rickrenstrom.com www.myspace.com/rickrenstromband TJ Helmerich www.tjhelmerich.com www.myspace.com/tjhelmerich Trey Alexander www.treyalexander.net www.myspace.com/treyalexander1 Anton Tsygankov www.antontsygankov.com www.myspace.com/antontsygankov Mike Orlando www.mikeorlandomusic.com www.myspace.com/mikeorlandomusic Joop Wolters www.joopwolters.net www.myspace.com/joopwolters |

Appearantly gives lessons so lessons here might not be out of the question. Matt Otten Youtube A player I've checked out some time ago, good rock and blues player. riffguy Chatreo. Guy from Thailand, works in a musicstore I guess. Fast fast fast shredder, sometimes it gets sloppy. Judge for yourself. I never saw a clip in english though. Chatreeo youtube Matrinberra, plays clean and emotional https://www.youtube.com/profile?user=martinberra Another good musician https://www.youtube.com/profile?user=calligop -------------------- My bands homepage
