How I recommend using metalzone, can be connected to soundcard and use a 4x12 cab ir.

I have to admit I'm very skeptical about metalization of classical songs or instrumentals and I was a bit afraid to click the video. But Ola didn't disappoint me. He killed it and did so with style. I would be afraid to listen to someone else's version, though.

ola can get a pretty good tone out of just about any gear! That pedal is capable of really bad sound when used poorly. But , as they say, tone is mostly in the fingers.

I don't believe a good tone is good because of who's playing it. Cause this would also mean we couldn't identify a good tone if the player is bad.

Bad players rarely have really good tone imho. Good players can get great tone out of just about any gear they put their hands on imho. In my experience as a teacher it really does come down to the player, not the gear. I've heard very poor tone coming from players with Fractal/Kemper, name it. It's all over youtube. Then Dime Bag warms up with one of those micro plastic marshal amps that fits in your pocket and sounds amazing. So I gotta respectfully disagree with ya. From what I've seen it's more about the player than the gear.
case in point, you can see the litle plastic marshall on the table behind Dime.

I notice absolute beginners tend to aim for cheapest guitar available (and quit or replace them soon afterwards) and overcrank the Gain knob, scoop mids etc. All in all, a good tone results from proper decisions made by the player, even if they aren't advanced technically.
On the other side, a player who knows his trade is able to bring out a passable tone from low-budget "bad" amplification.

Metal Zone was named Metal Złom /zuom/ (Metal Junk) in Poland just because it wasn't much respected. Ever since Ola showed how to use it in his vid, the prices on the market doubled.

More experienced players are able to get respectable tone out of just about anything from what I've seen. While less experienced players struggle to get good tone from thousands of dollars worth of gear. At least this has been what I've seen over the past decade or so. I have started seeing first year players with guitars and processors that cost enormous amounts of money, all over youtube Then they start playing. It's often a bit of a let down. Then I see guys with an old fender tweed and one overdrive and an old strat, getting amazing tone. It's an old adage, "Tone lives in the fingers". Put one first year player and one advanced player on the same exact amp/rig, and let each one play. Even with the exact same settings, same gear, the tone that the experienced player gets out of the rig is often just flat out better. Tone, like speed, comes with practice. Just like playing well, it's something one has to earn over time. At least, that is what my personal experience of teaching has shown me.

Ola can raise the price of gear just by doing a video on it. Which is why folks pay him his quote of a thousand bucks or so just for him to play their gear in a vid. He can make just about anything sound pretty good and it increases sales since his audience is HUGE. He even has a pay channel on youtube. He's still a great example of how to create an income stream mostly from being a bedroom player with occasional touring.

Thats the deal with metalzone, someone adjusts/plays like crap then people go "metalzone is bad etc.".

Ola knows this well as a tone seller, you guys do realize he plays bad on purpose with the first pedal. Its on purpose not because trying to be funny, he's playing with your head to make you like the metalzone right from the start. Of-course then everyone thinks he can make everything sound amazing...this talent is playing in context to the tone, not the other way around.

for example; I remember watching satch playing a squire. The playing was great but the sound was thin, comments were satriani being able to get great tone from crap guitar etc. ...so mesmerized by the playing they thought it sounds good

Emotional thinking of tone and musicality being able to be separated (when needed) must be self obtained when listening such gear demo videos.

I don't think Marshal would be happy seeing him trash Guv'nor but I can't see Ola caring about non-metal rig producer's opinion either. My thoughts were "He's not even trying here." But I didn't wonder why. Obviously it all sounds better with Metal Zone when he tunes the pedal settings right and adds delay etc. There's nothing to compare, it's like a band rehearsal or bedroom practice vs studio recording session.

It sure got a LOT of hate. That's for sure.

I"m with ya that it's important to try to be objective as possible But I still gotta go with the old adage, "tone lives in the fingers'. Two guys on the same gear, one just starting, one 10 years in, will yield objectively different tone. I've sent people my personal patches and heard recordings done by them and many times the tone sounds a bit bad simply do to differences in ability. I'll say it again, bad players rarely have good tone. Great players, rarely have bad tone At least that's what my ears have picked up over the years

The guvnor can work well when paired with a nice amp/head. By itself, it's a bit weak. I don't think either vendor paid him for this as these are old pedals. I think he just wanted to make a vid.

Marshall doesn't care for their pedals anyway, they profit enough from their amps.

The jackhammer might be one of the most amp-like sounding pedal out there (on dist. mode) yet so dark you need an eq pedal after, the newer guv-nor also could use some internal eq adjustments. Requested by many users yet marshall never fixed them.
