Hi guys,
The last couple of years I haven't been able to practice a lot of guitar, because I was awfully busy trying to graduate.
Now that I only have a masterthesis to write, I have more free time, and thus more time to practice guitar.
And I want to take it seriously now! But I have really no idea where to start...
I've been browsing through the lessons on here, but there are soooooo many, I can't really see the forest through the trees anymore.
What are some of the lessons the GMC community would recommend?
My goal is to play music ranging from AC/DC-esque soloing, to Metallica-like riffing, to hardcore/punk style arrangements.
I hope my post is clear. I'm more than willing to clarify my goals, if necessary.
Thanks a lot for reading!
Maarten
(I realise this might be post no. 1000 about this sort of question. Please don't hate )
Hate is rare around here at GMC.
I've been there, mate.

Hey mate! Nice You decided to share some thoughts, Your status and request for help. At this stage we usually ask for some playing samples (best if it's a video) so we could advice some particular lessons.
If You want to rethink Your playing maybe it's a good idea to go through some basics at first
Yeah...I would be weird if I won't recommend some of my lessons ha ha
Here is a detailed help for all level alternate picking workout:
http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Alternate-Picking-Basics/ - maybe it's worth to verify Your attempt to it
Here is a mid-advanced 90's metal lesson - based on old Metallica and Megadeth songs:

Gabriel Leopardi has a lot of great and semi-advanced punk/rock lessons. You can search them by typing the name of Your favourite bands in the search box (top right corner)
I will also highly advice Piotr Kaczor's lessons for phrasing workout. One of the most popular is "Winter Tune"
Anyway...best method for search is by the level and band name. I think that's a good start
Enjoy Your time at GMC
Thanks for replying! I will definitely check all these lessons out!
I'll try to find a way to record my playing the next couple of days, so more personalised suggestions are possible.
At the moment, I only have a Rocksmith cable and a webcam, which might do the trick, but I haven't checked it out yet.
@Gabriel: what mentoring programs do you mean? I don't think I've seen this yet?
Hey mate Got your PM Stay tuned
