ok so this happened completely randomly the other day when i went start playing.

I hooked and turned on my amp, and started jamming a little bit when i heard the most beautiful sound ever. the sound that was coming out of my amp was so clean.

I usually hear alot of fuzziness even when im not playing anything, and the strings are muted.

and when i plugged in my distortion pedal and used that it sounded nice and warm even at low volume (i usually have to turn it up quite loud to hear the distortion)

anyway... i have always attributed the crappy sound coming from my amp to poor guitar quality or poor amp quality, but then i realized that this might not be the case.

I have taken my set up to a variety of locations, so i pretty sure that its not some kind of radio wave anomaly or anything like that.



Has anyone else expierienced anything like this?? and if so how do i get that sweet sound back!!! cuz it stopped the next time i went to play

p.s.

I use a fender mexy strat, and a FM25 amp, (what i think to be a crappy amp)

No idea man, there's so much different things that could come from. Like if you use a transformer instead of batteries, that would be a constant buzz when the pedal is on (transformer = buzz that is)
Or if the room has flourocent lights, that's very bad.
dOES YOUR fENDER HAVE COIl split and you run a humbucker setting this time? (=less hum)

I think you have to find out what dofferent from the other times you have played. Different time? Lights were off? Neighbour was not running his pneumatic drill? Etc

yeah, i dunno, next time no ones around i'll just start flipping switches in my house.

um i'm not sure what that is exactly, it does have a switch on that i think changes the pickups, and yes i have messed around with that, and for some reason I always get the least amount of buzzing when it is in the second position, (one click away from being all the way forward.) is that typical??

try a different cable between the guitar and pedal. then try another between pedal and amp. I had the same problem a while back and it was from the guitar cable. I noticed that I had been rolling over it when I sat and played causing a break in a wire. May not be the culprit but worth a try!

Try with some different gear, experiment, maybe the amp is good afterall.
