Hi man! Let's start from a few example of Your improvisation. What is the type of music You feel You will play over most of the time?

Hi !
It's blues . But I think that's because I can just improvise easily at blues at the moment. So I want to improvise at other styles also , but my blues technique isn't enough yet I think.

I think You take too much attention to play different notes instead of just adding the articulation. Let's stick to the 3rd backing track.

First of all aside from obvious "playing from the heart" what really improvising is....

1. Ability to use licks You know in the right place and time
2. Fretboard knowlege
3. at least 3,4 basic scales knowledge and their layout
4. Ability to use colors, bulid tension etc

And a lot more of course...but those few things are essential for us at the moment.

My basic rule is:

"don't play faster than You can think at the moment"

Order of those 1-4 points is nor random. Nothing will happen with Your improvising skills before You don't get familiar with the neck.

Here is the awesome mix od 35 blues licks from GMC lessons (those are named so You can go back to GMC and find each lesson)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2uiJXN3L6E

Let's start the process by getting familiar with some licks that work for sure. Then let's match the number of notes to the speed of thinking. The trick with fast lick is that You treat them as a "one note" once You have mastered them. While improvising You don't think about every single note in the lick. You think of lickas a one note. This is why it's so important to make those lick's perfect.

You first task:

Choose 3 licks of those 35. Match the key so they will fit the 3rd backing track You've posted.
Show me You ideas of where they could fit in this backing track.

Understood ?smile.gif))

This is nice but You need to rethink the breaks between licks so you will have better connection smile.gif Also they need more practice - You miss the timing. try to imagine the little beats - faster pulse - like 16th or 8th notes to fit them with some of the notes.

Very first thing in all learning process is being patient and precise. You know it already because You have a very good attitude in REC section. You did Your best and each take was better and better until You reach the pass point. Here is exactly the same. Improvasing is an art of being able to imagine some licks in a whole solo concept with different songs (harmonies). Please don't rush too much because it will notimprove Your skills on that field - it would be rather like school You know (learn for the exam and forget).

When I am working on my improvising improivements I usually spend a lot of time with just a single lick, trying it in as many situation as possible. I would like You to spend a bit more time on those simple licks to get the perfect

The next step is...choose different backing track - different tempo, different key...Show me an exsamples of it

Finall step with licks workout is to be able to change single notes to fit the modals as well. For example Youi should be able to play lick designed for major scale, in the minor as well.

Try to get those 3 licks working and show me different approaches to those

Very cool 1/3 of the first impro You sent - blues impro. I think the tension build over 1/3 of the track is very nice but then it becomes too repeatable. I would consider playing less at the start and prepare some faster or just more dense part for the end. Most important in improvising is to create consisten tension insreasement through all the track. If You want to have long 3 minutes solos You have to prepare something speciall for the end and be very carefull to not play too much a ta start.
