So as the title suggests my neck developed a crack in the neck. My only solution would be to crank the tuning pegs until the headstock gets ripped right the &$@&& off.....
Just kidding... But I think it would be an ok idea to tune the guitar just a hair tighter and allow the crack to open up just a teeny tiny bit more and dump some ridiculous glue in there. After wards remove the strings and clamp it in the direction opposite string tension.
How would you fix it? How would you destroy it if you couldn't fix it?
If I were to destroy a guitar Id want it to explode or sent flying on a rocket or pulled in two by horses.
Three options:
1) Accept defeat - that's no fun...
2) Take it to a luthier - still no fun, but it will get the job done.
3) Attempt the repair yourself!
Here's a great resource:

This example is obviously a bit extreme but the concept would be the same. You would want to glue and then clamp, followed by some cleanup/touch-up to make the seam as invisible as possible.
Pretty much nailed it there CHRIS S!!!
Sad to hear Always sad to me to see an instrument like that. Some folks get broken up watching forests get stripped or something, but seeing broken guitars always makes me kind sad. Poor thing has nothing left to say. Maybe pull her for parts and bury the body with dignity in the back yard.
Very sorry for your loss
Todd
I do believe that I could glue it and hopefully that brings some of the brightness back. It's output is seriously affected. If it doesn't come back to life she will be dead. Maybe I could pawn her off to some schmoe..... Really really kidding...
Although I'd never want to harm a guitar nor do I encourage it in any way but if she does ever set sail one day I'll surely make the best of it and make a cool movie or video scene.
A luthier would split it more or even completely, dowel it, glue it and clamp it. It would be as good as new after that. Even stronger actually. It's actually a really common break.
This post should be rated R for graphic content
I would go with the horses - I mean, only if it comes down to that of course. Or heck, do it anyways. It's not every day you see a guitar ripped to shreds by horses. youtube it.
