Just a little encouragement to those who lost their motivation:

1. Who said they learned it in 10 days?? That guy with Canon - i am pretty sure he practiced it for a couple of long months before recording.

2. Did you ever think of - maybe his dad is a guitar teacher and the kid has his own private teacher 24 hours a day?

3. There are loads of kids that can play someone's songs - but can they actually compose something of his own?

4. It doesn't mean they will play guitar the whole life! They may get borred of it in 2 years because those are really small kids and they might not even understand what they are doing - their parents told them to play guitar and he is playing guitar.

I started to play guitar because my mother worked in a music school and the guitar teacher there once said: "Hey come to music school - let's see if you'll be able to learn guitar!" - I really got in love with guitar after 4 years - when i was 15. I played guitar for 4 years without even knowing why am i doing it.

So - stop whining and prove yourself you can be a good guitarist!!! You have GMC (i didn't have it when i was starting to play), you have great forum community where you can ask anything without being ashamed of something and you'll get your help and answers and lot's of info!

Pick up the guitar and make a decission! "YES - I WANT TO BE A GOOD GUITARIST! SCREW YOU ALL - I WILL PRACTICE AND I WILL BE BETTER THAN YOU!" - That should be your moto!

Make your decission! See ya around!

i think what pavel say is very true,we should not be discourage,if u think he is the only kid,let me tell u i saw a kid at 7 years old only, playing guitar in a way that stunned everyone, with his technique at a guitar shop,i think pavel is very right,we should just carry on our motivation n do what we really like, even if we maybe not become rockstars, but end of the day when we grow old,we know that we dint give up when we were young....

What I find funny is that so many of the greatest technical guitarists developed the bulk of their physical chops within the first couple of years of dedicated playing. Which just goes to show you that on average, 100% practice focus over a relatively short period of time can beat less focused practicing over a lifetime.

Anyone out there who is motivated, dedicated, at least somewhat intelligent and inquisitive can achieve most of their guitar goals, and in most cases they can surpass many of their idols on a technique level. But I wouldn’t get too hung up on other’s progress compared to yours, because achieving your goals is always available to you should you really decide to pursue it 100%, no matter what age you are or what your other responsibilities are. If you really want it bad enough, I think you can find a way.
