GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Games That Frustrate You The Most !

Posted by: Ben Higgins Oct 2 2012, 02:39 PM

Which video games do you think frustrated you the most when playing them ?? Made you the most angry ??

I'm a generally placid guy as you know but every now and then I'll encounter games that make my blood boil. I'm a fan of the Splinter Cell series of games but man, do they make me want to throw the console at the wall !!! tongue.gif

How about you ???

I remember playing Beauty and the Beast on SEGA once smile.gif
Oh man that game was killing me - it took days to just go through first few levels.

When Battlefield 3 does weird things to me online, like I will be flying a jet and then I am randomly catapulted out of it at breakneck speeds into the side of a building. Funny later on, but when I'm on that killstream its annoying laugh.gif

I've got troubles with BF3 too. EVERY TIME, and I'm saying EVERY TIME, I shoot to an enemy, emptying my gun over him and getting 10 hitmarkers and then he doesn't die that just make me mad and I'm shouting so loud I often wake up my mom who's in the living-room. And after that I see a stupid noob killing me in less than a second with 2 bullets.... I push my xboxguide and stop the console. laugh.gif laugh.gif

super star wars on the snes huh.gif theres a bit ( quite early on ) where you needed to do quite a precise jump inside a sandcrawler. failure = death and I could get up to that bit with a gazillion 'guys' and STILL struggle to get passed. Used to make me quite insane!
it was an awesome game and I totally hate it rolleyes.gif

Posted by: wollace03 Oct 2 2012, 06:24 PM

definitely "lemmings the tribes" on PC.
we had all tribes save and the last level was non playable cause we couldn´t place the lemming in the exact moment at the exact time (and we tried for many days and attempts!!!). In the end we decided to quit instead of smashing the computer to the wall....but still an excellent game I spent much time on when I was at the university....if it wasn´t for higland level 10 mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

hm for me the choice isn't that hard cause I had times playing games that are programmed to be extremely frustrating and unfair.
just search for "I wanna be the guy" or similar fan made games and you'll know.

That really makes you do other stuff like picking up guitar once again biggrin.gif

The strange thing about those games is, as awful the difficulty is, there's hardly any game you get a similar level of joy from as soon as you beat sth in there. (or watch others failing in case of multiplayer versions)
also quite entertaining to watch ppl. playing this and raging the whole time. (highly improved my English rage vocabulary that way)

Would be any Splinter Cell game for me as well.

But games like these just aren't my favourite genre, so I rarely play them anyway.

Posted by: BTrian Oct 2 2012, 11:39 PM

concerning splinter cell, I really enjoy the stealth stuff going on but hate later parts when that game starts to be like some huge bright open battle with no chance to sneak around.

enjoyed Chaos theory the most

I haven't played BF3 yet, but I used to have the same troubles with BF2. You could be standing 3 feet away from a guy, point your machine gun at the guy and empty it and still not hit him! blink.gif Same deal with a shotgun as well. Then to make matters worse he kills you by stabbing you with his knife. That's highly frustrating!

Zelda, 'The Ocarina of Time' and 'Majora's Mask'!!!
I've just got an N64 Emulator program and am going to play them again just to see if they really were that difficult or whether I am just really bad a video games!!!

They are really difficult. It took me quite a while to beat "Ocarnia of Time" when I got it. The fighting isn't all that bad, but some of the puzzle levels are very frustrating, to say the least. My nephews have "Majora's Mask" and they tell me its worse than "Ocarnia of Time". Just as sidenote, I always thought "Ocarnia of Time" had some great music!

Yes, I agree. It's just NOT designed for shoot outs and quick battles so I get really frustrated at the game makers for expecting us to be able to do it. There's too many buttons to toggle between and Sam just doesn't move quick enough. Plus the guns suck a bit for that kind of thing. It's times like that where you really miss an AK-47 or MP5 ! tongue.gif

I also edge towards that as my favourite too. I recently bought the first 2 games and have made my way through them, just near the end of Pandora Tomorrow now. They've all got some really cool locations and missions but CT seems to be overall the most enjoyable smile.gif

Age of empires. I know, it's great, but just not my cup of tea!

Castlevania Haunted Castle. That game is ridiculously hard. So hard I haven't even beaten it yet. It makes me that angry. Quite a feat.

The Castlevania series has my favourite videogame music, though. Other than the one man band Metroid Metal, I would say that it has the best remixes as well.

Back in the day games where much harder than now. There was a game called Abu Simbel that was absurdly hard to play. It demanded the most precise movements i have ever seen in a game. As a matter of fact i never passed the first screen tongue.gif

Actually, i'm still incapable of passing the first screen, ARGGGGHHHHH!!!

Splinter Cell games are difficult. Tried few of them but really can't enjoy them.
Also almost all the nes games are hard beacuse lack of saving. You die - you start from the beginning.

New games have these hint systems and even they show where to go if you wander around too much rolleyes.gif
But choose right skill level you can't go wrong with them. Professional ph34r.gif

When you beat few Zelda games you understand them better. But mostly it's "beat dungeon - get an item and go to next dungeon" But going thru side quests and just wandering around talking people is also fun. Forget Majora Mask it's really difficult if you don't know where to go because of the limited time.
