1. put guitar in drop D.
2. open note palm muting.
3. put your index finger in a barre, on say, third fret, covering the three bass strings.
4. palm mute strum.
5. mess around with the "index finger on *insert fret*".
6. put index finger on third fret, B string. put pinky on 7th fret, G string.
7. strum treble strings. *breakdown sound*.
8. mess around with *breakdown sound* in other positions.

haha. just kidding. a hardcore vid would be ok. i'm just tired of that genre. the whole local music scene is FILLED TO THE BRIM with hardcore / metalcore bands. none of them have innovation, they just abuse the same tried and true formula.
although, for something really relevant:
i find the best way to practice "hardcore / metalcore" music is to just practice songs. (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com) ((for tabs)) (((you probably knew that, haha))) job for a cowboy, black dahlia murder, etc. the songs are like great exercises / warm ups; great for alternate picking etc.
