In this quick licks we use our LEFT HAND ONLY to create a speedy Hammer on / Pull of Lick. You can use any sort of mute that you like. I'm using the cross over method, which looks flashy but is really just the same as using a fret wrap. You can mute at the bridge too if you like. Whatever works for you. The key here is to NOT PICK at all. To just use the power of your fingers to Hammer on and pull off. You may need to add a bit more gain than usual for this one. That's perfectly fine ) If you can't play this lick at all, then you are only about half a player at this point. Ideally the left hand should be strong enough to make the PICK a tone choice, not a required method of striking. For some folks, this type of lick seems IMPOSSIBLE. Rest assured, it's not impossible. Just takes a pinch of effort smile.gif

Don't let this lick throw you off. Anyone can play this and play it at speed with a bit of repetition.

Good to see you working out your muting technique! The way you are doing it there is just fine. Any method that keeps string noise at bay is a good method imho. It allows you to play these one handed licks without extra string noise getting in the way. Your pinky did very well and you got it up to speed! You are getting better with each one of these Quick Licks! As a Theory test, can you tell what key and scale we are working in on this drill?
You just..
LEVELED UP!!!

Thanks Todd,

Having a quick look, the staff suggests F major but there are a lot of flattened notes and only D# and F# appear to be in that key. I'll have a more in depth look at home.

Good eye! It's actually in C# Minor. There are 4 Sharps in this key which just seeing lots of sharps and flats can sometimes make folks think it's more difficult than it is. I've update the tab and here it is with update guitar pro file. C# Minor is a very odd key and I only picked it for ease of finger placement on the neck since the last note has a fret marker on the 12th.
