Hey everyone, I'm 19 and just picked up playing the guitar about a month and a half ago. I'm extremely motivated to learn how and have been trying to practice around 3 plus hours a day. I stumbled upon this site by accident, but it could be one of the better accidents I've ever had. I have been going to formal lessons and i plan to continue to and use them in conjuncture with GMC. Kristofer, so far i have found you to be a great teacher as your lessons are very well thought out and easy to pick up on. Oddly enough I am right handed but I have been told by my teacher and found that I play much better with the guitar resting on my left knee. Currently I am renting a cheap Yamaha guitar from a local shop, until I feel I've progressed enough to the point where I deserve a nice one of my own. Luckily, a friend of mine has loaned me a pretty decent amp so the sound isn't actually that bad. That's about it for now, and i hope to learn as much as I possible can from GMC.

Welcome!
I've seen other guitar players rest the guitar on the left leg. I suppose the shape of the guitar matters.
