Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Tim, this is quite impressive.. you've really improved your strumming hand technique and you're mostly in the right place during this take.

Your fretting hand is struggling to keep up with some of the lines but the only way to improve is by making it tackle challenging stuff, which is what you're doing. By forcing ourselves to cope with higher challenges, we learn to adapt.

You lose the flow around 0:55 and the single note line around 0:58 definitely needs more work.

Hi Tim,

Great to see that you keep on working hard on this one.

I think that the overall sounds good, but that if I listen with close attention, I notice many small timing issues and lack of groove. I think that your hands are not comfortable yet with this tempo and that if would be better if you practice this one at a slower tempo, focusing on making each note sound clear, and each rhythm pattern with the correct groove and dynamics.

In this type of rhythm tunes, details are what make them sound professional, and what makes it enjoyable and this details are based mostly on groove, dynamics, and other expressing tools like vibrato, slides, muting.

So my recommendation is to slow down and work on small blocks focusing on details.

Well well...Tim...that is a really solid funky strumming. I can notice your good control over tone and good job on muting unwanted strings. Also...you timing seems pretty solid. Now there is one part/lick that seems to have constantly the same issue. It's the one at 0:18 where you speed up your right hand motion. That one need a lot of speed boost for triplet match.
The palm muted, single notes part need most of attention now. Most visible is the triplet problem again - this time with alternate picking instead of strumming. I would probably focsu most on the switch between 16th notes and 16th notes triplets. I would suggest to separate that as an additional exercise for your right hand.
