could i have a spot ?... to try something in the style of david g.
Well, I will do as many as I am allowed cause I love doing them. So if allowed I will?
Ohh, I'd love to give this a go!
Key?
And what chords are being used ( or any scale suggestions aside from Gilmours standard minor pentatonic? ).
If a space I`d like a go please
I'd like to sign on too
It's great to see you arrange another collab David - I have been missing them!
Thanks! I've been wanting to do one for a long time!
You should be part of it too! :-)
I don't understand how these collaborations work.
HEREEEEEEEE, i want to take part :>
knocked this out real quickly cos I'm back to work tom so i won't have much time to record ( forgive any mistakes )

Man didn't see the new backing till it was too late mind if I give it another crack?
Probably won't be till wednesday tho?

It's easy, you download the backing track provided, record your solo over it and then post your solo here on the forum...
All the spots are taken now, but I'll make an exception and add you to the list if that's what you decide...
Ok here is the proper one could'nt get my damn software to record with backing track again

Aww.
I saw this too late
Ok here is mine. Some heavy delay at the start but it fades away. Little high tech special effects at 0:23 that required the use of a common household item.

Leedbreak, nice special effects and nice solo
[edit] Weird, the backing track version doesnt have anything. Lemme try and figure it out.
[edit edit] There we go
Hey the new guy has a question! Is the goal of this particular thread to see how close to Gilmour you can play...or is it using a cool backing track to run up and down the fretboard???
Thanks!
Trying to sound like gilmour, mostly. Most of the collaborations are to try to sound like a particular thing, for example to try to "sound" lydian, or at least get the idea of how playing in the lydian scale is for that particular collaboration.
damn i love gilmour i would have loved to get in on this
Nice takes JVM and Jason!!
Yeah,I believe the goal is to sound like Gilmour but you may do few runs if you like tho.
Hi, may I try to do something over it too?
Cheers
hey, interresting contributions my friends,
in order to try to sound in the style of.... i prepare my collaboration tooo
and personnaly, I would like to try to sound more like gilmour play if possible
Just a question, because this is my first participation here.
The backtrack piece lasts 30 seconds. Does the collaboration hit over only this duration or over one minute ? (because I saw all collabs of a length of one minute or more).
Walli, do you get collabs of one minute or a half ?
Hey jean-mi!
I updated the backing track.. It's twice as long now...
Download it again!
Also, everyone, check my new edited opening post.
I decided to add 5 more openings!!!
OH OH OH Can I be in it please?
Ok, here is my effort - gotta love Dave
Nice tone Andrew is that from your Pod xt live?, only asking coz I got one in the cupboard for my crimbo pressie and will be well chuffed if I can get those kind of tones from it ( I`m not allowed to play wiv it till then)
Arr thanks , I shall save it for when I get it, not too long to w8 now
(I may have to pick your brains some more when i get it )
HELL YEAH !!!
I want to be in too .. can ii ?
Please, can I be in?
Please...

Andrew, I soon as I saw this col open, I started looking forward to your's. You might should do a family tree, Gilmour may be related to you. After all he uses your style.
Nice job guys

Hey TJ, I think it's great. The only thing I could say is to a) allow for more "space", not having to constantly play notes, I forget the word for it right now but anyway. It also seemed to me that the first half or so of it was mostly in and around the same area of the fret board, try to move around a little maybe? Some octave stuff perhaps, I find that fun to play with.
But really, I only say that because you asked. I think your playing and everything was better than mine so take it as you will
Hi guys!
I was planning on posting the whole finished mix withj comments later today..
But don't worry, I'll get some more collabs going!
:-)
thanks iluha, i appreciate that
Guys, this was absolutely brilliant to listen to! I have so far to go before I reach this sort of level
One thing I found that was when listening to the final post it's hard to work out which piece is by who... I wonder if there is a way to simplify that (maybe a quick post with the starting time for each contribution would help?).
Another thing that would be cool would be tabs from each submission. A bit of work there though
Here's a tab of mine if anyone wants, it's pretty simple so good for any beginners perhaps? Part by part:

There's some scratching and a few basic phrasing things I try to use throughout, but they're minimal and few, so you should be able to get them from listening, or just skip em if you want
