I have the USB powered guitar port and I have not unplugged it since I have owned it. It is really just a extra USB sound card.....kinda.
Now that you have one you will practice longer or at least enjoy it more. You might want to go ahead and get a nice gift for the wife/girlfriend or whatever since you won't be seeing them as much. ;-)

Toneport is great man smile.gif I sometimes have it for some time now, and still go sometimes through it's sounds and find something interesting that suprises me. Tons of presets, and great ones too (for a price cool.gif)

What's one of your fav's for a heavy metal sound? I'm kinda stuck on the "Spinal Puppet" with a little wah at the moment.

It's a lot of fun for practice. But I find that the vintage models are really lacking. It's mostly good for clean and high gain stuff IMO.

I'd share some of my presets with you if I could find where they're saved tongue.gif

All the line6 JCM800 presets are horrible, on the Gearbox and most of their amps it just sounds totally awful tongue.gif mellow.gif

I've gotten a few decent tones out of them. I can't get anything good out of the ac15, ac30, blackface, or tweed models though, unless I have it set really clean. Turn the drive up much at all and it just becomes a fuzzy mess. I know from experience thats not how those amps sound tongue.gif Haven't had a chance to sit down with a real marshall though.

I was very suprised at the 800 settings. That is the model I was hoping to get a good tone through. I'm really having to play with all the pedal settings as well! But lot's of fun tongue.gif

I got this device from my friend and I didn't have the need for it when I bought it..But afterwards I used it so much for so many things (demos, composing, recording this and that)..Now I'm totally dependent on it..I have UX2 version.. smile.gif
Since I have sound card that I use in my computer I always unplug the toneport when I don't use it (it gets worm after some time etc)..But you can use it as primary sound card (in windows) and than you can have it on all the time..wink.gif
