I've been struggling with this inversion for quite a while, especially lower down the neck, such as the attached pictured tablature. Do you use your ring finger for the 2-string roll on the A and D string? Or your pinky? The two notes on the 7th fret of the A and D string, that is.
I find it a struggle to use my pinky to do the roll, as I don't feel in as much control, but funnily enough, when I use my ring finger, I tend to accidentaly bar/roll onto the G string as well, either as a muted note or, in the case of the arpeggio in the tab, the D on the 7th fret of the G string.
Just wondering if I'm missing something obvious that would make this inversion easier.

Yes I would probably attempt the pinky roll if I had to play this exact arpeggio.
However typically I tend to alter some notes here and there just as with the C major triad arpeggio position 3 (see below).
What many people do is play a C major 9 arpeggio instead - which often works and sounds cool.
Since fingering here mainly is a problem for shredding, no one will hear the difference anyway 😅

Heh, I have done that in the past, but I was kinda adamant in learning this exact inversion.
I have also looked for alternative ways to play the one in my tab. I.e. without the sweep like Jason Richardson does, but I would like to learn all the tools and not "cheat" through it, but it's just my perfection speaking!

The way I would play like this:
A 7th fret - pink finger
D 7th fret - ring finger
G 5th fret - first finger rolling
B 5th fret - first finger rolling
E 5th fret - first finger rolling

I'd start finger 1, 3 (HO), 4 (d string 7), 1 for all 5th frets etc. ...The end note doesn't have a PO so this should work.

One solution is to use the ring finger, instead of the pinky, when you do the roll.
Another solution is to change the position of the first note, and instead play it on the first string with you pinky.

I can't get the stretch between the first and third finger like that, which is probably why I struggle. It's not the most common shape, I know, but I was doing all the inversions of the minor-shape and that is one of them.

In that case I would play C note on 6th string (8th fret).

Man that is a bit tricky eh?
