Hello Clayton!
Welcome to your thread for Gab's Army!
Some info about you:
Influences: John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, Andy James
Goals: Shredding & Improvisation. Sweep Picking, Alternate & Economy Picking.
Could you share a video playing? It can be some random stuff to check your current level.
Gabriel,
here you are. I started working on this a day or so ago. It's still kind of sloppy, but this is where I am.
I don't feel like I am advancing, and it's very frustrating. I practice 2 hours every day, sometimes even more.
Some days it is only an hour. My friends tell me that should be plenty. But I am stuck!
Please help!!
Hi mate! Thanks for the video.
You have a good base and I think that with very small tweaks you will be able to cross that barrier that doesn't allow you to progress as guitarists. Don't feel frustrated, you are at the right place now.
The key is to economize movements. Both your right and left hands are doing extra movements that we need to adjust. We will start with your right hand. We will use this video as reference but we will work on other lessons first. Then, we will get back to this one.
Work on this lesson and pay special attention to Ben's right hand. Try to make the movement very small as he does. Concentrate on tone, dynamics, and timing.
