Dean Evo Noir
Dean Evo Special I have played them both, and they are both an outstanding value -far superior to epiphone. No way are you going to get this level of quality from from gibson or epiphone for the same price. The Evo special might be better suited for a blues man. |

Less surprising after you do that. right, gibson is not going to sell at these prices. gibson can't get away with manufacturing it's guitars in sweat shops, and does not have access to the child labor market. First, they both have Grover tuners which is a really nice touch for a guitar this price. The bridge appears to be the same for both guitars only difference being nickel vs. black color and they had a solid feel to me. The necks felt identical to me -again only difference being the inlays on the special vs. the 'stealth' look of the evo fingerboard. Both necks are rosewood fingerboard over mahogany just like on a real Les Paul. Other than the pickups, I think these guitars are identical in tone. My personal preference was for the sound of the Noir. Both guitars have really THICK sounding tone with all that mahogany not budget sounding at all -trust me, I just liked the more modern sound of the noir - it wasn't over the top, but it wasn't low vintage type output or anything like that. I recommended these to you, because sometimes when you pick up a guitar -even for just short time, it makes a lasting impression, and your post brought these guitars to mind. I was really surprised at how great these played when I tried them. |
