Hey guys I have heard that Reaper is free even after trial days, and I have also heard that you gotta pay....So whats the deal?
Also, I'm looking to buy a USB interface to connect only my guitar and bass to my laptop, so which ones do you guys recommend that is under $100
Thanks

Don't know about interfaces, but Reaper is free indefintiely but they encourage you to buy a license and you have to wait 6 seconds every time it opens if you don't buy a license. Basically you should but you don't have to. smile.gif

Reaper is free to try, and will function forever, but after a few trial days it will prompt a short (4 seconds) message at start up encouraging you to register (pay) if you like it, but as said, will continue to work even if you don't.

Under 100$ I'd recommend some Line 6 toneport as USB interface, they work great.

Check out the Toneport GX
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/wiki/index.php/Toneport_gx

And Toneport UX1 (a bit more expensive):

Good luck wink.gif

Regarding the license, from the Reaper website.:

>>License Terms

* Purchasing a license for REAPER v2.x entitles the user to use, on one computer at a time, past and future versions of REAPER up to and including v3.99.
* REAPER is provided with full functionality, and will not expire after any period of time. We trust that you, the user, will obey the license agreement and purchase a license if use continues.
* "Non-commercial use" as defined here, refers to the use of this software for the production of your own content, not for the purpose of making money.
* "Commercial use" as defined here, refers to any use that is not a non-commercial use as defined above, and shall include, but not be limited to either of the following uses: a) the use of this software for the production of others' content for compensation, or cool.gif the use of this software by a business for any purpose.
* The full terms of the license agreement are included with REAPER, please read them if you have any questions. <<

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A single non-commercial user license is 50USD - very cheap for a full professional quality sequencer. Purchasing a license helps Jason and Cuckos develop Reaper and other software further.

Cheers,
Tony
